Now this is poetry in all it's natural glory, with a delicious breakfast being set as a trap for a trip out shopping. Mind you the tertiary trap of lunch at the diner sounds pretty tempting.

I love this kind of poetry. :)

She got you! You should know by now that an especially well made meal is the way women butter you up for a return favor. :) You made me smile, and I thank you.

A smart woman indeed! Tempt you with some breakfast delights, then promise more for a day of shopping. You go girl!!! I could make filet mignon for my husband and he wouldn't go shop with me...he hates it. Thanks for this amusing poem.

Cute with a nice rhyme. Seems to me you should learn to cook for yourself? Who's riving? You may be in a bargaining position. Good job.

This is clever. All good things come at a price. I cook breakfast once a week. Other days, it's breakfast bars or bagels. Cute rhyme in this. The toast sounds delicious. I think taking the wife shopping is only reasonable, after all she did make breakfast. She must also be watching your diet. Almost sounds like limericks to read. judi

Ah-ha!! She got you!! :) ;) What a fun write here, Bill -- so warm and full of the 'familiarity' that defines a close marital relationship...just great!! :) You guys enjoy the stores! :) ;) Thanx for sharing such a delightful poem to kick off the weekend! :) ;) Yvette :)

This is a very well written short poem about your wife cooking you breakfast and wanting you to take her shopping. She is a very cool wife in my eyes. She seems to know what she wants and how to get it! lol Very nicely written with great imagery that made me kind of hungry for breakfast! Blessings, Teri

Sucker! If this is not a normal occurrence, you must recognize a setup before it takes place. Being able to see a trick coming before it occurs gives you the necessary armor to protect yourself. On the other hand, a man who refuses to take his wife shopping, is asking for more trouble that he can handle. Grin and bear it, then just take the missus shopping. Happy wife leads to having and enjoying a happy life.

So I've been led to believe. Led -- that's what I've become.

Since fighting against it will not succeed, you might as well just grin and bear it. It only hurts for a little while.
