This tanka, Mighty Redwood Trees, has the right look and sends the chilling recommendation that people are bad for plants (planets). On the other hand, redwoods only survive at our leisure and would have been mown down a century ago if we didn't like them.

Reagan wanted to mow them down when he was governor of California. He said ?seen one redwood, seen them all?. Thanks for the great review

A very well-written Tanka about the redwood trees that seem to be in great danger because of human's abuse over the ages. To save the trees it means human should die to give the trees a chance to survive.

I made this blanket review just for your short poem and great paintings. I will add details depending on how much I love the work. I hope we can work out a deal before it comes to that, Pam.........................meeshu

In addition to getting my art fix for the day, I am getting a good look at your prolific poetry. We just got back from the redwoods last week and I get the feeling that the trees will be around LOOOOng after we are gone. Do you sell any of your paintings? do you have a website?

    Hi
DonandVicki. I do sell them. Most are sold. I no longer exhibit due to disability. This one is from 2015. A beautiful
Frame and 30? by 40? size canvas. Thank you for your interest and for your wonderful review

This begs the question as to whether the recent Californian brush fires were started deliberately, accidentally but as a result of human carelessness, or as part of the natural cycle of things. A glass bottle thrown away carelessly can start a holocaust.

Hi Jim. Power lines have played a part in causing at least two of the fires in Northern California. Thank you for a lovely review

That pretty much sums it up - Man is the Mother Earth's worst enemy. If he doesn't wise up, he will die anyway. And the trees will continue on as they have for thousands of years. Well said.

Hi, Pam. Are the Redwoods dying off for some reason? Geez. Is nothing sacred anymore? I really had to learn that. Good painting job here to go along with the interesting text. Bless you, Bob

I am sure forest burned. California has redwood forests. But I painted this three years ago. So, it is not about the fire. Thank you for your lovely review

Hello, Pam. I, at first, thought your verse was about the California fires because of the use of Redwoods, but I think you meant a broader scope. Thanks for sharing.

Well Pam quite an alarming but true statement ( that due to the condition of M.E. that many humans will die) which has been so supressed by our day to day living styles and many ofus dont even consider the possibilities.

I have seen these trees in San Francisco when I visited with my sister, they are amazing! We rode on the Napa train which was quite unique, your poem has a warning with it, love Dolly x
