Well, this sure is a downer. But you did a good job, Craig, with your word from the book. You give new emphasis to the death and taxes phrase. Good job with your syllable count per line. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Only stating the obvious, Jan. Nothing Ben Franklin didn't beat me to saying (well, maybe I threw one extra thing in there). Many thanks, Craig

This is like a saying we have in Italy, "There are two sure things in life, death, and taxes"; your poem reminded me of this. You added betrayal to the list. They are all negative and it's sad, but true.

Many thanks for the kind words. Yes, those are the usual two suspects (death and taxes), I had to think of something else that was pretty much inevitable in life. Cheers, Craig

Well... what a word.... a fun way to say sure thing. I like your short verse and am glad you showcased another one of your bookish words before you end this fun project. Well done and have a great day!

Thanks very much, Melissa. The light at the end of the tunnel is threatening to appear, but there's still 50 days or so to go lol Have a great day yourself :) Craig

This 5-7-5, Sure Things, has the right set up and while reminding of the surety of th3 two constants, and probability of a third. Being betrayed falls between the others I guess.

I'd think it could come before, after, or along with taxes, Bill. Many thanks once again, Craig

We can count on very few certain things in life, but you have mentioned three of them and utilised a new word in the process, a resonating poem, love Dolly x

Poet has used the word in right perspective, telling the story in correct environment, placement of the word appears completing the story with good exemplification; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

Is that ginger like singer or ginger like the tuber?
Stone-ginger..cool word ...like dead ringer...because bells were set up in caskets . If one was buried alive you'd know by the bell ringing....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Haha... good consciousness-streaming there, Jenny, but I'm afraid it's "ginger" as in the spice, or Gilligan's Island :) Many thanks, Craig
