Hi, Craig,

Well, isn't this just a dismal picture to paint this morning?

But, the reality is so true. I love this word, but I'm not sure how I can use it. It is almost too archaic to be used in a present-day story.

Thank you for sharing your wit,

~MP~

Thanks so much, Patty. Quite a few people seem to think this is really dark and depressing. Strangely, I didn't have that frame of mind when I wrote it, I was just looking for another things we all experience at one time or another, and that word seemed appropriate. Many thanks, Craig

Ooooooooh, I like this word. I might even be able to remember it. As for the poem, thanks a LOT. Now I am certain to... wait, what was I saying? Don't you wish you knew what the H-E-double-L I'm talkin' about? (*grin*)

I don't even know what I'm talking about, how can I be expected to know what you are going on about? Hell, for all I know that evil puss put you up to it ;-) Thankees, Dawn :)

She is a DARLING. (lol, IF somewhat cocky). Okay, that does it--no matter how poor my camera skills, I better post a video showing how Prissy can cuddle.

Hi Craig, I loved your 5-7-5 poem. Well, true, we can't avoid death but you made me laugh out loud. Death is a certainty, your word for it but the betrayal! So true. It's often like that isn't it? All best. Ulla:))

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who is not (knowingly or unknowingly) a victim, Ulla. Many thanks :) Craig

Oh a death certificate? Let's hope that's a sure thing otherwise there will be some big trouble for the undertaker.

Great job, Craig, a fun read on a fun day. :)

I have never heard betrayal in the mix with death and taxes. Seems reasonable though. Sort of cynical. Maybe we can dread only a small betrayal.
Good job as usual.

A few people have said that's cynical. I don't see it... show me someone who's made it through life without being betrayed by anybody :) Cheers, Craig

    Sadly, you're right.

I really like your new word, 'stone-gingers', and I really liked how you applied it to this poem. As cynical and negative as it may sound, the words in your poem are pretty much true. A fact of life, I'd say.
Blessings,
Gale

Thanks very much, Gale. Cynical, but accurate, I think... unfortunately :) Cheers, Craig

Well old Ben Franklin would agree about the "death and taxes." I'm not sure about betrayal. But we all know someone who had experienced it sometime. Such a strange word!

I'd be fascinated if you could name me a person who hasn't experienced it at some point ;-)

    Thanks once again, Helen.

Perhaps I need a definition. Maybe depending on that, I might agree. People in relationships always have so many opportunities to forgive but am not sure that the infractions would be considered "betrayal."

How about being betrayed by a political party that promises to deliver something very important, but doesn't? Or an insurance company that weasels out of a deserved payment? Or any number of service companies that don't deliver what they promise? Or a betrayal of the trust of a child and their parents by a cleric or schoolteacher? There are countless ways to be betrayed.

Good examples, Craig. Will think about this.

Okay, I think you win. I wrote about a bank and they certainly betrayed a lot of people.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. It seems we are in this world to work and sleep and pay for all kinds of things we sometimes don't even want or have no use for until we die.

Hi Craig. Life is an adventure, that's for sure. So true, live long enough and we will experience all. A big part of my spiritual philosophy is reincarnation. The theory is that before we are finished with our "lives" we must experience all by walking in the other guy's shoes. Those things we are most averted to are the ones we need to experience first hand. I guess next time around I'll be a liberal. Loved the new word for today stone-ginger. Makes me wonder how these words originate. Marilyn

Well, I hope not, Marilyn (being a liberal, that is). I'd hate to see your President encouraging people to beat you up ;-)

Thanks for the terrific review, Craig
reply by BeasPeas on 13-Nov-2018
Oh no. Not again. The only ones I see beating others up are the masked paid thugs who beat up dissenters. I'll shut up now. You, too.

I love ginger, but these "stone-gingers" don't sound too good, do they?! :)

I believe your poem is quite prophetic. I know that we all die and pay taxes, and most of us if we "life long enough" do experience betrayal as well.

Thanks for teaching us another new word, Craig! Another great word to add to a growing list of new words. Well done!

Cheers,
Connie
