We will always have the "crazies" in our society. Unfortunately, this country will not give up their guns as well. My question, if we have to have the 'crazies", why can't they go after rapists and child molesters etc.? This is a thought provoking poem. Best wishes.

This is an excellent written poem and educational as I for one did not here of a recent school shooting but u must say I don't watch the news as it only project depressing stuff.
But I didn't even here see it on a fed.
It flowed well and the rhyming good.

I am just beyond words at the moment, but I heard about your poem and wanted to read it. Thanks for your most apt description of our situation - clinging to our guns while counting our dead - yep. Thank you so much for your kind and supportive comments. I have received and viewed the heartbreak you guys are currently going through. Jesus warned his followers that if the world persecuted him, they would surely persecute those who love him. Hard times will shake, shift and reveal those with real faith. Be strong, no trouble will last forever and that which does not kill you, will make you stronger. God bless all of you who currently suffer.

so much hate out there now...I wish my grandkids did see so much of the bloody killings on the games they play today...can't helping people...your poem is very well written...but so very sad...where are we safe anymore????...love Linda xxoo

Hello lovely Linda. Thank you for your wonderful, heartfelt comments. I believe that as the world hurtles toward eventual destruction, it has gone almost completely mad. The one who is piloting things, Satan the devil, knows that his days are nearly at an end and in desperation he is doing all that he can to take along as many as he can. Do not allow yourself be one of his victims.

Thank you Meeshu. I believe that mental health is the real issue. For some years now there is has been an almost seeping under the rug and lack of concern of mental health issues. Most of our homeless suffer from mental health issues, many of our veterans, athletes and drug abusers all suffer from some form of mental illness. Until we address this burning issue, we will continue to see the problem of exploding violence.

and there lies the ethical question: do we put people away at the first sign of danger? who decides? does treatment even work? I could go on for hours and you are already aware of this.

I say that you can chock it up to increasing mental illness. I believe that sane people do not resort to senseless violence to deal with their anger and frustration.
