Wish I had a six for this, Nassus. I agree with this perspective. In the early days of feminism, it seemed to me like women were trying to prove they could be like men! TRue feminism is to respect the feminine qualities the world so desperately needs, like patience, selflessness and compassion! (IMHO).

I'm impressed by the voicing in your free verse. Polished and precise with outstanding metaphor, skilled phrasing, smooth flow and expressive. I particularly applaud these phrases:

syringed prejudices

addicted to sneer

And this stanza:

I don't really understand
her bold, tinted signature
re-writing women's history
with oblique ideology

And this awesome closing AHA:

is fully tattooed today,
sadly........
on her pale, opaque skin.

Virtual six: ******

Warmly,
rd

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

When morality is forsaken and the ability to reason coherently is no longer taught in schools, or even by parents (and ignored if it is), and opposing viewpoints either are escaped by running to "safe rooms" or suppressed by offensive words and threats of violence, the kind of nonsense illustrated here becomes accepted as "freedom of expression" -- except under Sharia Law where stoning (or worse) might be the response.

These demonstrators technically may be biologically female humans; but, as a still healthy male of the species, I see nothing attractive in any of them, and nothing in their actions to recruit me to whatever cause they may think they represent. If, while out walking, I were to happen upon such a scene, I would turn around and find another route to my destination, no matter how much longer.

How can they possibly be so dense as to believe that exhibiting such disrespect for self will somehow earn them even the slightest respect from others of either gender? The saddest part is that, if asked to explain their reasoning, it is likely that not one of them could do so coherently. Instead, as we see so often today, all they'd do is resort to slogans and name-calling (and the fouler the better).

Such lost souls are unwittingly playing into the hands of two evil agendas -- ruin normal male-female relationships on all levels to reduce world population, and foster chaos and anarchy to weaken our free nation to the point when citizens will clamor for government intervention to restore order, which will include surrender of whatever rights we still have.

At the very least, having appeared in such a picture will be a blight on the lives of all participants -- unless societal decay progresses (pun intended) to the point where it might seem tame compared to what by then will have become acceptable.

Free verse is quite appropriate for this post, as here it symbolizes the unruliness of such demonstrations. Your carefully chosen words and phrases contrast well with the empty minds of these protestors. Of course you cannot understand them, for no sound mind can comprehend what goes on in one insane or deranged.

Your post, and the large number of supportive reviews it received, prompt hope that the scenario depicted is a passing phase -- a mere outlying data point in today's chaotic social atmosphere. We'll see. Meanwhile, thank you for your voice of reason in bucking this sad trend. Superb, and aptly illustrated.

You are most welcome, Susan. Decades of miseducation have produced a generation of mindless fools who are convenient tools of the evil proponents of anarchy and chaos. If those of us who were more truthfully educated fail to reverse the trend, there will be little hope for our descendants to live in peace and harmony, let alone prosperity. I respect your strength in challenging such folly publicly in written record, though, of course, it MUST be done to provoke the necessary thought and relevant action. -- Mike

I totally agree with your opinion and assessment of today's feminists approach, Susan. Rabble-rousers, radicals and protesters only seem to raise a little Hell when there's very little or no risk of anything happening.
Rarely will they stick their collective necks out for a cause as happened in the civil rights movement or the anti war movement.
Nice artwork, very interesting.

Thanks a lot Dean. I can sense a little change in your opinion of what's happening in American society today. I have been praying to God about the awakening of America towards the good old American values of love for God, for country and for real freedom undictated by the Deep State. God bless. Susan

Men brought us, with women's help, of course, from the caves to this plateau of technology where machinery makes all humans equal...let's hope we never have to go back and it's the women's turn to move the load forward....I see no flubs in your free verse. Excellent. Interesting art....

I'd rather go back to the good old days where men will take care of me while I contribute as a loving partner to a man who dearly love me and even die working for me and my children. We will be partners through thick and thin even if it means I have to work alongside with him. God bless. Susan

This is an excellent commentary on how little some women think of themselves. It used to be that exposing self in this way was lewd. A person could be arrested for it. Society is becoming so bizarre. This is nothing to be proud of. It's difficult to find something beautiful in bashees who have no respect. That's my personal opinion. And, no they are not suffragettes, but make sufferers of all who must endure their outrageousness. Women can't complain of abuse because some, like these, are their own prime abusers. Marilyn

Oh thanks a lot Marilyn, with people like you, who think this way, there is still hope for the decaying American society. I hope you can too, write about this subject and help wake up the morally anemic American women who view vulgarity as a form of expression. This is purely indecency and lewdness to the highest degree but which have become accepted as normal in America, because we are afraid to tell the truth and hurt the feelings of these women. God bless my friend. Susan

I agree with you completely, Susan. There's a difference between women being assertive and disrespecting themselves. Marilyn

Yep! You have said it best!
You expression simply put to me expresses the idea that
some women want to be men and some men want to be women. Neither would have survived in the ages of the past.
Thanks for sharing.

You got it right my friend, American society is being turned upside down. There are evil forces there trying to control the minds of the youth and these women marches are almost always seen on the Left(Democrats). In the women's pro life marches, I don't see any pussy hats. It's all about decent women, happy music, praise songs and prayer to God. God bless. Susan

I totally agree with your opinion. Today's radicals, feminists, and protesters only do so when it is convenient for them. They won't put themselves out for a cause as happened in the civil rights movement or the anti war movement of the 1960s.

Direct, bold, descriptive and thought stirring. Perhaps not many will agree with this kind of view, but it certainly conveys a very strong message.

What an interesting poem and photo. You are certainly right about today's feminists being different from former suffragettes. I can't decide what those women in the photo really want. Sometimes I think it is just attention. Like you said, they suffer from syringed prejudices.
Prejudices and chips on the shoulder are common with so many feminists today. They seem to have such a limited, selfish perspective. Avarice is a good way to put it.
This poem is full of truth. I would give it a six star if I had one. I like how much insight you show. Thanks for thinking it through and presenting it so lucidly.
