I understand your perspective and think you expressed it freely and powerfully. Certainly nowadays people use cruel language and harshness to express rather than quiet solidarity and steel. Your line 'she spews lava hatred and destructive anger' I felt was very powerful and highlights the differences of expression compared to feminist movements in the past. A very purposeful and strong write x

Excellent free verse poem. I live where the feminist seem to (in my opinion) take things too far. One Sunday (of all days) a year, they have a topless parade for women to have the same right as men to go without a top. The funny thing to me is that the women who choose to go topless in the parade should wear more clothes, not less.

Well done and I got to get something off my chest. (smile)

Blessings
Janet

I don't think the young women of today have a clue what they want. They are an embarrassment for the most part and very angry, but I don't think they even know what at. They are spoiled brats who have more then they need but it's never enough. Lets send them to the middle-east, Mexico, north Korea and see how they feel about the US after. Well said and Amen!!

Yes Roxanna, I agree, these spoiled feminists will only appreciate the freedom they have here in U.S. if they will lose it in unsafe countries where they are in danger of losing their heads literally, for going naked in the streets of Saudi Arabia for example. Thanks for the exceptional six stars. I am deeply honored . God bless.Susan

Your personal opinion is interesting and well-expressed. It almost seems like a rant against some "wanton" display of so-called feminism. The photo really doesn't do justice to the feminist movement which is not about freedom to expose one's naked body, but about equality in the work place and social/economic/political justice. The nakedness is nothing more than sensationalism and a turn-off.

Well, it looks like an expression of vulgarity and indecency to me. I cannot imagine my daughter running around the house naked, just to make a point. That doesn't sound rational to me. I am an old soul who give a lot of premium to Christian values. I still believe in the beauty of rational discourse and civil dialogue.

Excellent post here. I don't like the new wave of progressive ways, but hey, we probably can't stop it. That photo makes me ill, but in today's world, it's how people are. It makes me ashamed to be a woman even tho they want us to be proud -- I think there's a better way. I don't know. But your poem is a great take on this situation and I appreciate it. S.

Thanks a lot my friend for sharing my views. I don't believe we can't stop the trend. We can help reverse the moral decay in our society by writing and waking up the sleeping society. Thanks for the generous five stars.

"Botched Feminist", is a well-written, but more than a little depressing piece. This talented poet's work was interesting to both read and review. You KEEP WRITING and I'll KEEP READING. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I personally don't see these girls as feminists. I see them as representing something. I can't read what their sign is. I don't think all women protesters are feminists.

It's bold of them to go naked. Something men would be doing.

I don't think it is really an expression of freedom. It is plain vulgarity and indecency to me. I cannot imagine my daughter running around the house naked, just to make a point and win an argument. I still believe in the value of rational dialogue and intelligent discourse. God bless JanPerry.

Hello Friend!
I have been thinking the very same thing, only you have expressed it far better than I ever could. One of my dearest former students - definitely a member of this "digitalized generation," spews the most unbelievable diatribes of hate and anger on her blog, Instargram, Facebook - all the while while she exposes herself either completely nude or what my generation would label as wearing "hooker" outfits, and I am appalled, disgusted, etc. Yes, she is exercising her freedom of speech, but I have to ask her, REALLY? This is how you advance the rights of women? So it goes...

Thank you for bringing this issue to the front - well-executed free verse!

Thanks a lot my friend for sharing my disgusts on these blind feminists. I cannot imagine my daughter running around the house naked with her hooker outfit, just to make a point and win an argument. I still believe in sensible nd rational debate or dialogue. God bless. Susan

The illustration is interesting and your poem is as well. being male, my opinion, my perspective, is that women were thought of for so long as second class citizens. Perhaps some are just realizing their freedom now and expressing it in away that gets the most attention. It does go in different directions. Suffragettes (1903)... then 1920, women could vote. Interesting.

Thanks a lot victor66 for this generous review. Personally, it is not really an expression of freedom but a numbed form of vulgarity and indecency. I cannot imagine my daughter running around the house naked with her hooker outfit, just to make a point and win an argument. I still believe in the value of a rational debate and sensible dialogue.

Can't argue with your point of view. I never had daughters but two sons. I would have liked to think I would have been as open with my daughter(s) as I was my sons. That being said, I do have a daughter-in-law, and five granddaughters age five to twenty-one. I try to be honest and I am protective because it's a different world out there for girls than it is for boys. I love my two grandsons and sons as well. Rambling? ? You're welcome.

I hope that I don't offend you, BUT I sure would like to have been at that get together. Your photograph snatches the reader and pulls him or her into the poem. Well done.
