I love your sense of humour .
I have been a menber since end of July. I have never been one for writing least in rhyme but something came over me and all of a sudden I was even thinking in rhyme.

So for fun I enrolled...I have never made the podium once in a paid contest when the committee judges.. and I have partcipated in several..We never get to see the other entries in these contest just the first three ...which I don't think is fair. I don't always agree with their votes either.

I can understand your frustration ..you pour your soul into a piece and then no one even bothers to acknowlege it.

You put all that frustration to good use though ..the above poem makes a great read. So I'm going to give you a six not out of solidarity but for sole merit cause I truely enjoyed it ..the rhyming element and the pic are perfect too!

Thank you so much for the great review. I'm most honored by your praise and the extra star. I don't really care too much about the rankings. It's more to do with how much you post, not really with the quality, which needs to change since everything I write is of course top notch. =} For the most part those at the top deserve to be there as their writing is really good. I like to be a bit silly with most of my writing, make people smile. There are enough sad, serouious things in the world. Thanks so much again. Rox

I finally understand what ranking actually is ..for every 6 star vote you gain a position up the ladder ..before reading your poem I just thought that getting a six star vote just made that piece of work more important ..I didn't know it also had a bearing on the general classification of all the members.

I instead thought the general classification was based on wins in a contest ..you went up a step if you won a contest.

Hello Roxanna, this is gorgeous, so funny and the baby says it all, capturing the mood of the verse completely. I think you deserve a six just for making me laugh, which we all know is the best medicine, and you know, here at FS there are really only 2 rankings, a five and a sixer, people squelch if you give too many fours, lol

My favourite bit is this:

If they had a category for silly poets, I know I'd be #1.
Songs to my glory would be written and robustly sung.
(You're #1! You're #1!)

No, people do not like 4's though I got a 3 not too long ago. What a crazy person!! They do not know a good story when they read one!! =} That is often what happens when you give anything below a 5. But there are many on here who shouldn't have more than a 3 many times. I just skip those. I had a guy tell me he had never gotten less than 6's. I find that hard to believe. That happened to me too, I gave someone a four, and then when I went to review their work again, I'd been squelched, lol And I rarely give fours because I feel that it takes a lot to put yourself out there in the first place, but that takes the cake, 'I don't get anything less than 6", too funny!!!

I'm so sorry you cried about your ranking. Just remember - if you didn't post 6 poems up until now, (the required number to be ranked,) well, you are competing with those who have posted one or two a day since the beginning of the year.

Rankings are based on numbers - not quality.

I have no idea where I'm ranked nor do I give a sh!t, Roxy.
In fact, as the #2 poet here I disabled a lot of my work at the beginning of the year in the hopes of falling out of the top ten.
If the CEC had anything to say about it I'm quite sure they wish I'd just shut up and go away forever.
But I like pissing them off so I hang around, heh-heh-heh.

Oh, your so sweet!! Your #1 in my book too, no one wants to be a #2. =} Some people on here are #2's. =} did you hear that someone wrote a terrible review on Mustang Patty's book on amazon? I read it and it was just down right mean, someone doesn't like her and I think it is someone on here and she gave them a bad review on something. How petty. So I went on and gave her a great review. That person is a real #2. Anyway, I am fine with my ranking but it was a great opportunity for a feel sorry for my self poem. And the little baby had the perfect face. Thanks again dear. Rox

HI Rox, How could I go past a six for this one, luckily I have a few left as I have been of site for a few weeks. So your poem caught my eye as I have just posted one in a similar vein. The rankings I find depends on how much you can post every day and often not about the quality of the poem. There are plenty of top writers here below the 20 mark. Also I can not afford to keep paying to promote my work so I guess to be here is the main thing. I enjoyed you fun take on this issue as I can see the merit in you writing and will read more Cheers Christine

I believe most all members got that same message, Rox. I received 8 of them--all identical. It is a glitch with the site. I have reported it before and that is the same answer each time. Ignore it. The rankings are difficult to understand, too. There are MANY great writers below the top 10 or 20. For whatever reason, they post less, promote little perhaps, and don't get the recognition they deserve. So, don't be to tied to rankings. Your poem is good--it tells it like it is. The image is a good pairing with your well-chosen words. Please keep writing and sharing. Jan
