Mermaids are cool, But I wouldn't fall in love with one the way that guy did in Splash. They probably spell fishy, and I'm not into fish, or any cold or slimy.

A beautiful sentiment expressed in free-verse poetry - from the fish's point of view. As she thanks her Creator for her home, her food and all that goes with it, she begins to sing 'the mermaid's song'. So, if the fish can become a mermaid by singing praises to her Creator, does that mean humans can become princes and princesses by singing songs of praise to the Creator. Yes, I think it does! We could all learn from that little mermaid - being grateful for all the things we take for granted. We never appreciate them, until they're gone. The simple joys of being surrounded by family, friends and good food - that is all we basically need. The artwork perfectly illustrated your pearls of wisdom.

Endearing. The first stanza is my favourite. Fish being" lost with watery thoughts" gave me a big smile, but it is also very beautiful imagery. Gratitude to the Creator -- another of the poem's highlights.
