I really love this one, Yvette. imagery and mood, fantasy and real. a kind of nursery rhyme/prayer. you've invented a new genre. so soothing in its flow and it reads like a melancholy dream. one of your best my friend......a V-6............meeshu

Wow, Gary -- thank you -- coming from you, sir, that really means a lot! :) ;) This really was my first time writing one of these and, even as I posted it, I wasn't sure how it sounded.....you know, you can read your own work over and over again and, still, once posted, you get comments back that you never 'saw' in it (good and not so good). So, I am thrilled that this seemed to work! :) :) Have a spectacular weekend, taking time to find some 'oblivion' of your own! :) Yvette :)

You've followed the prompt's instructions very well indeed Yvette. About on of the most popular of all themes, tales of the sea. "Men go down to the sea in ships" beautifully composed and scribed so nicely, with superb language, smooth flow and great rhyming, excellent job, blessings, Roy

Hello, Yvette!
Magical.
Mystical.
Lovely.
Lyrical.
I'm ready to go!
Such beautiful imagery coupled with the emotive yearnings to leave this world... if only in our dreams...
Thank you for sharing and best wishes!

I know just what you mean! I go over and over everything I write - ad nauseum. First time for me as well! What a fun, challenging and rewarding format!

What a lovely trip, Yvette. Sailor that I am, I would love to set off sailing swirls of mist. And, I am certainly ready for time to loosen its hold on me. I like your prismatic colors as well.
I do hate your conclusion though. Who would want to awaken from such a fantastic fantasy?
If my memory serves me, which more often it does not, fantasy is one of your favorite genres. You certainly do it well.
FanStory needs to give me more sixes. I read too many of your poems and run out.

You are so right, MQ, fantasy is certainly my genre of choice.....and this really was my first time writing one of these poems and, even as I posted it, I wasn't sure how it sounded.....you know, you can read your own work over and over again and, still, once posted you get comments back that you never 'saw' in it (good and not so good). A very well-written chain-rhyme poem about getting away from the daily routine can do wonders for the soul and can lift up the energy levels in a few seconds. A very beautiful picture choice to complement your poem.

Both your poem and picture are stunning, Yvette! I feel like your lilting meter and lovely imagery have put me into a trance. Especially liked:
" where land and sky at horizon kiss"
" with prismatic colors your only view"
Thank you for the verbal ride and rest for the soul!
