Interesting. I love how this leaves many avenues of interpretation open to the reader. the last word is like an AHA...surreal, even! The word choices of wandering, crystalline (which is a polar opposite to wandering, in some respects) and testify all pack a ton of meaning and can be interpreted in multifaceted manners. Well done!

I like this, since in only a few words, you brought forth a mystery. Whose footprints? A creatures? Earthly? Or otherwise? Is whatever left the footprints benevolent, or malevolent.

What a beautiful poem and photo. It's a fine entry for the contest. My only suggestion has to do with spelling, and I actually don't care about such things. Some voters do though. I think footprints is one word.
That's my only suggestion. Otherwise, it is perfect.

-Nice image and presentation.
-The syllable count is good.
-I like how you wrote with
one continuous thought, and
a good descriptive word at the beginning.
-I also like the 'crystalline' image,
and the concluding line, as well.
-Good luck in the contest.
