This is me, not having a cow! :) :) LOL!! Enjoyed that tagline there! ;) A fun write with some humor written in....those folks having a cow are the percentage of our population that have forgotten that humor is based in truth - without truth there could be no variation from it that causes us to laugh. :) ;) Thanx for the smile, sir!! :) :) Yvette

Thanks, Yvette, for the wonderful comments. I'm so glad you chose not to have a cow ;-) Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig,
This poem will suffice as my Sunday morning touch of religious reference:). Good use of irony in religion being what drives people to drink. Thanks for continuing the vocabulary education with your word a day writing.

Yes, I was too busy for Fanstory for quite a while. Once the school year starts in August sometimes it is hard to make time or energy for other things. But there is light at the end of the tunnel - I am joining my husband's "Every day is the Weekend". Club by retiring on my next birthday in September!!!

LOL well, I wouldn't want to deprive you of the opportunity to don your best Sunday bonnet, and head out for a little top-up at your local place of worship, Linda. I'm so envious of you. I still have a decade to go before I'm allowed to retire, although by the time that date rolls around, I'm pretty certain I'll be forced to work until they stick me in the ground ;-) Most grateful, Craig

This is first class stuff and short though it is I shall be giving it six stars. It is both witty and poetically sound in its construction. A pair of iambic tetrameters followed by an iambic pentameter. The whole is then rpeated to make this dipsomaniac delightfully happy.

    Dipsomania? I'll drink to that!

So nice to see your name in the reviewer list for this one, PG; and especially since it brings with it a lovely gift of kind words and shiny stars. Most grateful, Craig

No doubt this one will earn you a few brickbats - so here's an extra star to compensate. I shall also drink to your health when the sun goes over the yardarm, in about an hour. Splendid satire!

That would be much appreciated, Tony. As, indeed, are the lovely shiny stars and the delightful comments. Bottoms up! (Is it still ok to say that?). Cheers, Craig

I should say so - especially if you are lowering rainbow coloured underpants.

Yep so true, Craig. Communion leads to drinking and the ladies bazaar quilt raffles lead to gambling. It's a slipper slope down into the unfathomable pits of sin.

Excellent post with much deep thought. :)

Well, not sure what it's like in Canada, Gloria, but in Australia, historically, Catholic priests have been among the biggest consumers of alcohol, tobacco and horse-race betting. None of which condemns someone to hell in my opinion (ok, possibly supporting horse racing does), but it makes one think. I was more going for the idea that the constant challenge of trying to force oneself to accept the unacceptable might lead them to seek refuge in the bottle. Many thanks, as always. Craig

Hi Craig. I am a rechabite. I am allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink it. You found a word for me. Teetotaler May be a synonym. That is what I have always called myself. I found out the hard way. Ended up in the ER. the doctor said look up and I could not do it. So she started lecturing me about falling off the wagon. Then she realized I am allergic. The symptoms are similar. Religion can be a mass murderer. Or be a reason to be murdered. Far right groups here are planning and advocating violence. The far right is really the angry mob. Many have existing criminal records. I digress. Nice poem. Thank you for sharing

Thanks very much, Pam. Shame about that, although I can go a very long time between drinks and not miss it, so I imagine you cope lol Cheers, Craig
