You've created some powerful images with your poetry. I had to read it a few times to fully absorb all the imagery. Thank you for sharing this great poem, and I hope you win!

Strong and powerful poetry here my friend. Liked the central words and rhyme scheme. Great presentation. Should be a great contender in the contest.

Ya big show off. Okay I get it, you are capable of being deep when you want to be. I must admit that I was shocked to be reading this post coming from you. I had to go back and reread the name. Where have you been hiding this material?

I admired your reflections about "dawn" and your analogies. Your use of abundant alliteration and echoing sounds intensifies your message. Best wishes in the competition- Joan

You have captured the spirit of renewal of a new day in poetry. Your poem made me think about the new day ridding you of the poisons of the night. Good luck in the contest.

This reads beautifully. I like those "ing" words in the first stanza. Excellent simile--dawn, an unannounced inspector. Second stanza gives a good model for starting the day--make the new day oxygenated. Nice alliteration in the third stanza. I fell that you need a verb in there somewhere. Great free verse, and best of luck in the contest. judi

Poem colorful and well orchestrated.

The vivid colored of a peacock and a rainbow combined.

I have heard through the grapevine that the sky turns purple, first, when the sun shows its face.

Lot of words to devour in this poem.

You got a bundle of alterations too!

Bill, this is really a stunning poem. I loved each stanza. The free verse is used but it still has a sense of order and poetic rhyme too-dawn, yawn, fawn. And the line, "detoxifying the poisoned psyche" stood out for me. Well done throughout!
