Ha, ha, I just love this, the wit and humor of the cat who is attached to the human bride. The fact that this short made it more interesting. To come up with a solid story in so few words is a difficult skill. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. That was a fun story to write. Cats do know if someone doesn't like them.

An excellent flash for the contest. A clever way to entwine a wedding and a cat. A great viewpoint from the cat stopping the wedding. I guess it was worth one of his nine lives.

LOL, I just love cats! I have two Rag-doll cats here, my son and his wife's cat's while they move home. Not sure I want to give them back now! They are the first ones we've had here since our precious cat died. It's been very therapeutic. I can just imagine that happening, you're right, cat's do know these things, they are so clever and know how to get what they want. lol. I loved this, it's a perfect entry for the contest. I wish you the best of luck! :)) Sandra xx

Thank you. Yeah, cats know. A few years ago a man came to our house wearing an expensive suit. Elroy, my Himalayan cat, eyed the man then jumped onto his lap. I was horrified that Elroy would ruin the guy's suit. The man just smiled and said it was okay and he loved cats. Now tell me Elroy didn't know the man was a cat lover. LOL

I'm not a big cat fan, but I can well understand the main character's reaction to this unforgettable if not unforgivable act to her pet. Your cat is a good judge of character. Humor, irony and believability in 150 words, well done and good luck in the contest.

Thank you. Cats do know if someone dislikes them, and yes, they do take action at times.

Evil feline plan works! Ha. Good story and she should have asked how he liked cats a bit earlier-woulda saved a few bucks. Very original.

Yes. cats know who likes animals or not. You did a good job, Mystery Author, with the contest prompt. I like the way you wrote this from the cat's POV. Your picture is super, too. Good job and best wishes. Jan

Thanks. I love to write short cat stories. I have six of the creatures and each one has it's own personality.

Hello Mystery Writer!
How could anyone hate cats? I appreciate that your well-crafted story is told from the point of view of the cat, Sam! And what a cunning feline he is! We know who is running the show in his mistress's home! Delightful ending...The thought of nine lives comes to mind...

Best Wishes!

Thanks. I don't think Sam was hurt too bad, Maybe he is putting on a poor injured cat routine. LOL

Hi there,

I like your premise on this one and can see it all playing out. I'm not sure if it matters but you are shy of the 150 words but it doesn't say exactly in the word count criteria.

few bits I noticed as I read through-

his mistress and the cat-hater were shakings hands - just shaking here.

I'll kill you-you-son-of-a bitch." - I would replace the first hyphen here with a comma.

Sam hit the wall than lay stunned - then rather than than here.

"You killed Sam," my mistress screamed - this is a slip into first person narrative from third person. my should be his.

All the best

Thank you. Yep, you're right I made a slip there at the end. My bad. I will correct. Yeah, I didn't see where it said exactly fifty words. However, it is only a couple of words shy and I can add them somewhere. I don't know what I would do without you and the other reviewers.

I like how the main character is Sam the cat, observed through a omniscient POV. You set the scene vividly as he literally crashes the wedding and attacks his nemesis, the groom. One small error: cat-hater were SHAKING hands.
