just shaking(s) hands with - 's' not needed on 'shaking'
He yanked the cat off of his leg(,) and kicked him across the room where Sam hit the wall(,) then lay stunned on the floor.
What an interesting short write. Funny how animals have that intuition, isn't it. Good writing here. Just a few nits listed above, nothing worth detracting a star for. I wish you all the best in the contest with this cute and unique short story, writer.

Thank you, and thanks for the tips. I and those commas seem to never get along.LOL

Hahahaha, well done, Sam. The cat-hater seems to be also pretty uninformed about cats. Hadn't he heard the one about cats having nine lives? If he'd tried shooting Sam, the bullet would have bounced off and boomeranged to his head, right between the eyes...
This was delightfully hilarious.

Thank you. Yeah, and he would have deserved it too. LOL

Animals definitely can sense which people are animal lovers or animal haters. Narrating from the cat's point of view made the story even more interesting. It was better for Sam's mistress to find out the truth sooner rather than later.

Thank you. Yep, I wouldn't want to marry a cat hater myself. LOL

I totally understand the cat. Smooth and wily, plotting and planning. We've got 5 of them. Read their minds .....How do I get him to open the door, or turn on the air- conditioning, or change this food for something tastier?
They plot between themselves..."we need softer beds", your turn to get get him to do it !

Thank you. Hey, you understand cats perfectly. Being as how you live with five of them, I understand. We have six cats that allow us to live here.

Very good, and good luck!

Excellent twist. I didn't see it coming. I have two cats and I would never throw them. I've been known to kick them occasionally, but I would never throw them.

Thank you. Any cat person will understand this story perfectly. Cats know a cat hater when they see one.

OUCH! I'm not too sure I wouldn't have done whatever it took to get those claws off my body too...and no, I don't hate cats.
Your 100 word flash fiction is fast moving, suspenseful, and believable. Kitty had me watching him closely to see what mischief he would get into. It's an OUCH but with a smile!

Thank you. Hey, Sam had to use desperate measures to save his life from the cat hater. LOL

Sam sounds like a Siamese cat we had growing up. I loved the pace and flow of the story. Cats definitely have their own agenda. Sometimes they allow us humans to participate! One grammar issue: the cat-hater were just shakings hands. Should be shaking. Excellent. Hugh

Thank you. Glad you caught that error. I always edit but still miss some small issue.

Hi anon, very well written, clever entry to the contest. Excellent last line 'Sam purred to himself, mission accomplished.' How sly is that LOL? A good story and interesting author notes LOL. Good luck in the contest. Regards Dorothy

Thank you, my friend. That was a fun story to write. I stick with the short stories because I don't have a lot of time at this point in my life.

This is a funny piece for the contest! A very creative write! You managed to wrap up a great story in a few paragraphs. The story was not missing anything. It fit and it flowed nicely. I loved that she chose her cat over her fiance! A great ending! Good luck in the contest!

Thank you. Yep, if someone kicked one of my cats he would be lucky to escape with his life. I would chose the cat anytime.

What I know about cats is very little. For one, I do know, however, that they are very independent creatures which account for that selfish behavior that Sam lay claim to.

Thank you. Hey, Sam was within his rights in my story. If his mistress married a cat hater Sam's life would have been hell. Cats know if someone doesn't like them. It was just a silly story.

Yes, I know the story was silly, but seriously, I appreciate the created accomplishment.
