Sometimes it takes extreme action to ward off disaster. Clearly your cat was brought up in the school of hard knocks. He sure knows where to land the killer blow. Thank goodness that he still has eight lives left.

Thank you. Cats do know when someone dislikes them. Of course, I have never seen a cat take such extreme measures, though. LOL

=^..^= Meowzer and purr on for cat those of us who understand and love cats. I enjoyed your story. Animal haters are NOT to be trusted. I love the moral of your little story. A great contest entry!

Thanks. Yep, cats most definitely know a cat hater when they see one.

This one-hundred-fifty-word story, Wedding's Off, captures all the tension, terror, and trickiness that we associate with those loved or hated fur balls. Neat.

Thank you. I, for one, love those fur balls. They are a unique and delightful creature.

The fondness for animals that was a part of my late wife was a small but very definite factor in the forming of our 45-year romance...she preferred dogs by a factor of about 1.0000000001 to 1. Excellent response to that prompt.

Dynamic verb in this as I followed Sam's violent reaction to the groom.
his paws scrabbling for purchase on the hardwood floor. --I've watched my cat do that. It's hilarious.
kicked him across the room where Sam hit the wall then lay stunned on the floor.
Yeap. Seen that happen too-- the cat a victim of hubby's anger about something I said. Poor cat suffered a broken leg. I never forgave Frank for that.
Fortunately, he does love cats. I would feel the same way as the bride.

Thank you. I hear you. If someone harmed one of my cats there would be hell to pay. I love my furballs.

First, my main comment -- YAY! I loved this, especially the 'catty' (lol) ending. *grin*
Now a nitpick:
"...funny(,) long clothes." Always a comma between adjectives (although these days I am seeing the punctuation and grammar rules I grew up with being ignored more and more often, even by some of the 'greats'. *sigh* They CAN get away with it though -- new authors cannot.)
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, and thanks for the tip. You know, I forgot that bit of grammar when I wrote this, I did know better. My bad.

Thank you. Cats can spot a cat hater a mile away. I love the furballs no matter what they do.
