My daughter had leukemia when she was four years old. Fortunately she was cured and she's now 23 and healthy.
I'm glad you got better too.
Thanks for sharing.

We live and want to be healthy, but sometimes... We still get sick. I think it's all modernization. You know like science. If they didn't create it, the chances of us not having it... Good commentary.

Raul1, So happy to hear that you're now doing well. Cancer is such a terrible and scary disease. You just reviewed my 'Paradise Found' poem. I came to look at your page and was surprised to see this post because you've chosen a picture I took on FanArt, and the poem I wrote was about my dad, who's pictured here on the left. He passed away last year from cancer (multiple myeloma). His wife, on the right, passed away from lung cancer the year before. And two years ago, shortly after her passing, I was diagnosed with and battled stage 2 breast cancer, but I'm doing okay now after multiple surgeries. It's just amazing how appropriately this picture fit your words. At the time I took this photo none of us knew we would all end up with cancer. Sadly, they are now both gone, but not forgotten. Thank you for choosing this photo, and thank you for writing this. Cancer does kill. Thank you for sharing and highlighting the importance of being aware and proactive.

Thank you, my friend! I didn't know that you used the same picture I did for this post. It's interesting that I learn new things that I never knew. My deepest condolences to you, your family and friends of the loved ones you've lost. I bet they were nice and wonderful people. I am so happy that you like my post. Blessings to you!

This was an informative piece. I'm sorry that you were a victim of this disease but glad you are a survivor. I do feel as though you could have maybe put more of yourself into this piece to grab the reader's interest a bit better. A good effort overall.

It's amazing that cigarettes are still legal to be sold. The cancer that smoking has caused is criminal, but people subject themselves to this poison. Well done.

There are (many) types of cancers. - edit suggestion

The doctors took it out. I got cured.- edit suggestion:

The doctors removed it and I was cured ( I am in the medical field and this is how it would most likely be phrased ). You are so very lucky, Raul. Luckier than most. I've worked in Oncology and it's not a pretty sight.

Lung cancer (also) kill(s) millions of people (each year).

Add at the end of your short write this line to drive your message home:
Don't mess with cancer. Get checked and be proactive. Cancer kills people.

By doing this, you're restating your initial thought and adding emphasis on WHY it's important to be aware.

Excellent warning for us all, Raul. I enjoyed reading this and wish you many more years of health and happiness...and decades more writing successes :)

Thanks for sharing.
Janelle

I am glad your cancer was cured. Yes, cancer is awful and many pass away from it. My best friend growing up died from kidney cancer this past June so I understand your words.

This flash fiction story, Cancer Can Kill People, seems to be stating the obvious, but it doesn't stop smokers or others using chemicals that cause cancer. Odd but true.

This is very, very true. Well Written. Kind of short though. I am new at this and not sure if it was suppose to be short or not as some of the ones to write are. One of the subjects that is a real issue. Good job.
