Isn't 75 words difficult?! When I try to write this or the 50 word flash fiction I am AMAZED how quickly the word count adds up!

I'm so sorry for your loss... No parent should ever bury a child.

Good for you that you feel in your sixties you could be an adoptive grandparent! I'm 64 and holy cow I just don't think I have it in me anymore...

In my area the Department of Social Services is always looking for "surrogate grandparents" for kids that are in the foster system or awaiting placement...
if you take their several night class you can even have weekends overnights
with a child or children.

Also--Our Neonatal Intensive Care trains grandparents to volunteer to sit and rock the premies... (this I have done and it's so gratifying and calming!)

Libraries (at least ours) have grands come in to do story time ...

Women's shelters have welcomed me as a drop in "Grand-mom" just to snuggle and hug the kids there...

I love your flash write and encourage you to find some way in your area to put all that goodwill and love to use!

Karenina

Dear Karenina, Thank you for your comments and the places where you can do work with kids. I'm thinking of being a substitute teacher again for one day a week. Dove

I am sorry to hear your story Donna and your write is heart rendering and you have a lot to give, unfortunately as we get older we are not able to adopt because a child needs someone for longer than the time we can give, your words are warm Donna, you have a good heart, love Dolly x

This is a very well written 75 Words flash fiction story for the contest about the grandchild adoption. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

Dear Teri, I used fiction based on nonfiction - you already know about my real-life son who was adopted away from me. This is the first time I've tried 75 word flash fiction. Thank you for your comments and best wishes. Donna
