Hi Vance. You're 100% correct. We have a reprieve with The Donald in power now. He has temporarily saved us from ourselves. I pray he can continue for another four years. The libs are doing everything they can to change our republic into a socialist mecca. Anyone who had ever lived in California, as I did for 10 years, knows that runaway immigration cannot be sustained. Only the very rich and the very poor will be able to live there. Costs a fortune to feed, educate, and give medical to those who have not come in by the proper channels. WE are the ones paying for all of that, something our own citizens DO NOT get. The violence against anyone who disagrees with the libs is off the chart. By intimidation they are preventing free speech and free will. Trump is trying to hold the line, but he has little to no help except for grassroots supporters who are smart enough to see through the lib agenda. Thanks for sharing. Marilyn

One thing I won't let politics do is to let it come between friends, for many will have beliefs not suited to another, perhaps not all down to polices, but down to what we are used to, regardless of what is on the table, so my answer, just be the best you can, for the short time there is left, for life is short, and if conscience is clear in doing the right thing, that is all that matters.
You are my friend, regardless of who you support, and politics will never come between, as it is known to do in this kind of circumstance. There must be a goodness within all we do, even though one person's goodness may be another's' hell.
I wish you good health, and do not dwell too heavily on all of this, though I know it takes up all we are at the moment. Spread love and understanding to loved ones close, and hope that it spreads.

My parents were Democrats, but that was during the days of Harry Truman. I don't think they'd recognize the party now. I'm not thrilled with Trump's behavior, but that won't stop me from voting Republican to try to keep some of the things which you mentioned, such as bringing in hoards if illegal immigrants. I have known Donald Trump personally for a long time and I consider him to be a friend that like all friends, sometimes makes remarks that are painful and unwise. But, I do know that he is hard core honest and is committed to doing what is right (in his mind of course) although his delivery often leaves a bit more ashes than necessary, he does indeed get the job done!
