I am back after 2 years of health problems. As usual your stories about Jesus and His Father is what i missed the most. I love Them and without Them we cannot exist or survive in this world. So beautiful are the verses from the Bible. Thank you please keep writing and let me know. Thank You Terry xoxo

first I should say that I am Daoist. a philosophy that is not interested in being "Right". so I have no dog in the fight, if you will. while the concept of 'eternal forgiveness' is good for filling the pews, what does it really mean. to many Christians mistake it for a free pass. also, how does a ceremonial circumcision differ from 'making a graven image?...................meeshu

Actually, salvation through faith in Christ's sacrificial death is indeed a "free pass". Usually, this fundamental teaching is thought preposterous, because the assumption is anyone getting such a free pass will use their freedom from the fear of judgment and punishment to just naturally go wild and have all kinds of fun, hedonist to the max.

This thinking is predominate in the church, as well as in the unbelieving world. However, it doesn't take into consideration how such freedom can allow a Christian access into intimate fellowship with the Risen Christ. Christ changes everything, transforming sinners into saints, embryonic new creatures, born of the Spirit of truth and capable by that same Spirit of growing into spiritual maturity, mirroring in varying degrees the love of Jesus, the Son of God.

As to the circumcision spoken of in the passage, it uses the religious physical rite to illustrate how the Spirit cuts off the flesh (here a metaphor for our sinful nature). This is seen from God's perspective and is done in the hidden heart of a sinner when the truth of the word of God penetrates.

Here's a Biblical example of this truth from Acts 2:36-39

?Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.?
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ?Men and brethren, what shall we do??
38 Then Peter said to them, ?Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the [k]remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.?

    Thanks for reviewing!

The Apostle Paul correctly sees the real purpose of the Law was to teach everyone our need of Jesus Christ to shed His sinless blood to blot out our sin.
Yes, the Jewish law condemned us. Not just 'the ten' but Deuteronomy in its entirety.

Well put together although I won't get into semantics. Judged it on the writing and the ability to make an argument.

The Law was given to the Jews, but Paul tells us Gentiles had the Law of conscience which also condemns. Christ died to free us from all lawful accusations and to give us new life in Him.

Thanks very much for reviewing, much appreciated.

I do not have questions, but do have a comment. Each and everyone of us should look truthfully at the 10 commandments, we would say there is no way I have ever kept all the commands. I saw a person who one time say she was saved because she had never broken one of the commandments.

Well, as we both know, she was spiritually blind, living in a world of darkness. I wonder if her family and friends agreed with her...:) Thanks for reviewing, Dennis

She was an elderly family member and our relationship was not good so I did not call her on it.
