Hey Yvette.
Trust you are doing well. I've been busy taking poetry classes. Will post one after I come back from Chicago -- end of the month.
Yevette, this poem of yours is great. It's a different take from what you generally write. This was done just right with lots of different colors -- it almost made me go out and get 3 scoops of ice cream in different flavors. Well done. You are very good at this.

Yeah, especially the Baskin-Robbins bubble gum flavor -- it would have fit it just fine dripping on this - LOL!! :) :) These short writes are always challenging, but doodling has always been a 'useful nonsense' I engage in when trying to come up with a line or idea that just won't 'appear' so I thought I'd throw a bit of levity into my frustrations! :) :) And that final line means a lot, sir -- thank you! :)
Glad to hear you're enjoying some classes and I certainly look forward to reading/hearing the results! :) :) Thanx for stopping in and have a wonderful week filled with assorted 'flavor crystal' thoughts to make your new poems really 'pop'! :) :) Yvette :)

Glad you seemed to have gotten a bit of 'fun' from this one, Bill -- that was, of course, the intention! :) :) These short ones are always challenging, but doodling has always been a 'useful nonsense' I engage in when trying to come up with a line or idea that just won't 'appear' so I thought I'd throw a bit of levity into my frustrations! :) :) Thanx for stopping in and have a wonderful beginning of the week filled with assorted 'flavor crystal' sugar cookies and your favorite 'flavor crystal' drink mix! :) :) Yvette :)

For some reason, I need a blue ink pen when I write. This picture reminds me of a beginning of the year kindergarten paper during writing time. I always had them draw a picture and then write a story. At first it was random letters but when I asked about their story and picture, they had great stories with doodles such as these. I like the words flavor crystals of prose because the colors used do remind one of crystals of light and these pictures can result in great prose. Kindergarten was my favorite year to teach.

Good observations, Mia, doodling is a form of 'mind mapping' that really does stimulate creativity ... I have some of my students (teach high school) that are more 'visual learners' and I always make sure to include silly little symbols and made up names for them to 'draw' to help their learning and linking processes along. Plus, I lecture in every color imaginable -- never do I repeat two lines of the same color...helps that same part of the brain in everyone. Aaaaand, with that, I will stop the droning on about unrelated stuff...ugh, sorry. :)
Thanx for stopping in for such a short read -- really appreciate hearing from everyone! :) Be sure to have a wonderful remainder of the week filled with assorted 'flavor crystal' sugar cookies and your favorite 'flavor crystal' drink mix! :) :) Yvette :)

I love the title. Are these your scribbles? How wonderful that you are still in touch with the childlike innocence of doodles. I used to doodle and write with a pen and paper. In fact, I still have a clipboard with lined paper on my living room table so that when the muse strikes me, I can write it down freehand. I usually get a better poem out of writing this way. You remind me that I need to stay in touch with that part of me. As far as flavored crystals go, I don't remember having those when I was growing up. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your poem. Thanks for sharing your inner child with us.
Take care, Jesse

Could be...but mine aren't so colorful as I usually work with pencil only -- it's a remnant of being a math teacher -- I even take points off if my students do their work in pen (cuz I refuse to try to grade around all their scratchouts! :) :) Glad you seemed to have gotten a bit of a smile from this one, Jesse -- that was, of course, the intention! :) :) These short ones are always challenging, but doodling has always been a 'useful nonsense' I engage in when trying to come up with a line or idea that just won't 'appear' so I thought I'd throw a bit of levity into my frustrations! :) :) Thanx for stopping in (me and my inner child thank you -- wink, wink) and have a wonderful remainder of the week filled with assorted 'flavor crystal' sugar cookies and your favorite 'flavor crystal' drink mix! :) :) Yvette :)

Hi Yvette
Your levity was well received by me. You have such a creative mind, and I love your wishes for me for my remainder of my week. I love your responses to my reviews of your work. I get a kick out of you. Enjoy your week, as well.
Jesse

I'm afraid I come from the era of inkwells and pens, and, for the odd reason, eventually used biros, I still write the "bones" of my verse in biro before I do edits and post edits. Well done Yvette, great job with this, I'm not really a "doodler" good luck my friend, blessings, Roy

Yvette, you still doodle your time away? :) From the picture I believe your favorite flavor is in that red color, for you doodled everything away and then put up a sad face for your thoughts and what you say. That's OK, for what we all say and think can be washed away. This is a good entry for the 2-4-2 Poetry contest.

I just grab what ever is hand when an idea pops into my head. What ever room I am in there is usually pen, pencils, paper some where to grab when I get an idea.

Lovely colors! This is the time of year when everything is suddenly vibrant with rainbow touches of red, orange, yellow and green. Even on an overcast day, colors are everywhere. I am in awe of the beauty outside my windows. Well done, Yolande.

How fun! I love the alternating colors and font you used - they enhance the poem's meaning.
I never would have considered using flavor crystals in a poem, lol :)
Good luck in the contest and have a good day!
