Lol. But you succeeded in using it anyway so congrats, Craig. I have heard more the "go-to" for lots of things including clothes but something that specific, I'm not sure. And I never saw a necktie fold quite like that one.

Thanks so much, Helen. Are you saying I tied my tie incorrectly? Well, I never! Most grateful :) Craig

Lol. I only know the double Windsor. I can't remember if I can still do it.

Ironically, this expression is one that I have heard all my life. Growing up, my family referred to our Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes. I looked up the derivation. I thought that it must come from the Gattis clan (my maiden name) because I heard it so much. It is an Americanism dating back to 1825. I bet it was hard to rhyme with.

O.K., you did really well with this! Great photo to match and I might actually remember "go-to-meeting" clothes. Hey! I am 60. I need easy! Love what you have done with your vocab inspiration of the day. Creative, classy, timely. Good luck!

I enjoyed your fun poem, Craig. It reads smoothly and makes great sense. I know many say they have a 'go to recipe, store, etc. This fits right in with having 'go to meeting clothes.' Thanks for sharing. Jan

Goodness me, that tie knot looks like a noose. Not saying I don't like it, it just looks like a noose. haha

go-to-meeting clothes seems about like it.

A fun poem and you made it fit:)

Thanks so much, Gloria. The hardest part was holding the camera at the right angle to take the pic ;-) Cheers, Craig

A very well-written poem about the smart wear we need to put one for special meetings are sometimes hard to put on and fit in the clothes to be acceptable for the people we about to meet.

Hi, Craig,

Um, I think I can feel your pain. I need to go, or at least think about going to, a Memorial Service for a friend of my son. However, when I went into the closet to plan what to wear -- well, let's say I was sad.

So, do I donate the money to the family I would spend on new clothes?

*sigh

Hmmm.... are you sure you're not like my other half, Patty? She can go to one of her many closets, open the door, and have stuff fall out at her, and still she has "nothing to wear" lol

Yes! The results of frustration always make us busy people (who may or may not need the go-to-meeting clothes today) laugh....cuz shite happens and we just roll with it! :) ;) Thanx for the real 'laugh out loud'....my mood needed it this morning! :) Yvette

This is a fun poem using your word-of-the-day, go-to-meeting. These compound word adjectives are difficult to place, It's a reall wish-I-didn't-have-to-do-it situation.

Haha this was great Craig and your rollocking meter is perfectly punctuated to get the reader to pause in ALL the right spots.
You made it fit, you wore it well and your poetic go to apparel was indeed the goods.

Remind me NEVER to go up against you in a meter and rhyme or excellent random word contest haha

You'd win pens down LOL

Loved this and BTW it is fittingly appropriate as I am dressed in my go-to-meeting clothes right now as I had a job interview today.

Lets HOPE this is an omen! I can blame YOU if I don't get the job haha
With that said, if I DO get it, I will be claiming FULL credit LMAO

Hmmmm, there's something wrong with that arrangement, but I just can't quite put my finger on it...

What did you go for? I heard there was an opening at the Opera House for a CEO. Just kidding, it should be that dick Alan Jones that gets the sack. Oh, hey... you're not the new 2GB breakfast announcer, are you?

Thank you once again, Phillippa, you are way too... I mean "just kind enough" :)

    LOL
Not that job. And yes he is SUCH a dick bag.
Re the job...it WASN'T the night fill at Coles. I bombed on that. They wanted the 16 yr old. Plus...I'm too good for that now. They didn't bloody want me. Their loss.

I went for a Graphic Design job and it looks very promising. Pretty much same type of work as I am doing now, digital print media, computer cut signage...except I don't have to bust my date doing it myself. I've pretty much had a bellyful of that after about 30 years. Been self employed since 1992ish...

Anyway, lets hope they can afford me haha

    Who am I kidding.

I just need a job with more income than I am currently getting haha
