As this 5/7/5 poem points out, although it may be freezing outside, with a little knowledge and knowhow you can remain as warm and snug as a bug in a rug inside.

Looks like a Kincaid picture. I'll have to check out more of Linda's work. I used to live in upstate New York. I hated the cold and the snow, but you capture the coziness of staying indoors with a warm fire when the ground is a blanket of white.

Good description in such a short form. Cozy image and pic. I'm not really sure if the prompt is actually for an ode or just a 5-7-5 about winter. I think humorous or pet pieces usually do the best in the contest but I like your write and I hope you do well. Good luck!

You're probably right about the humorous or pet pieces but the contest does say Ode to Winter, so I took it literally. Anyway, thank you much for the stars and wishes.

"fire in the hearth" and "blanketed with snow" are really pretty phrases! This feels like wintertime to me.... so aptly titled! Nice pic and I like the color and presentation - reminds me of that fire in the hearth! Well done!
