This is a wonderful, amazing poem -- words so accurately and richly tell of the life of ants. A living portrait of these small but important creatures. Their unstoppable organized labor, sense of community and selflessness. Great art work too.

So glad you enjoyed this piece, Donka, as I certainly enjoyed writing it -- was focused on a trailing of ants out on the front porch on their way to/from a dead katydid in the corner...sounds icky, I guess, but they really are such fascinating things to watch!! :) :) Thanx so much for stopping by and have a great week ahead of finding lots of fascinating things to trigger your pen's imagination! :) :)

Hooray! Another ant-watcher, especially one that's just a tad bit older than me!! Lol! :) :) I can believe you have an ant farm -- they're so awesome! In fact, when I wrote this nutty piece, I was watching a trailing of ants out on the front porch on their way to/from a dead katydid in the corner...weird, huh? S'okay, guess it all goes back to finding wonder all around us, yeah?!! :) :)

Oh, and the fan thing: it was a contest so, it won't send any of my fans notices when I enter them. They're always there in my portfolio for you to peruse at will, but no notices go out. I'm thinking there's a way some folks let their fans know seeing the winners some times [and that's all I'm going to say on the topic], but the contests are supposed to be 'blind'. :) :) :) Like there's a number of big writes I'm finishing up for the next few days but I won't get but two or three reviews 'cuz they're for contests....and who can afford to get those things so high up on the page?!!! :) :) Like I've said before, I'm cheap! :) :)

Always so good to hear from you, DUDE (by the way, I do still use 'dude' with my students! And you'll note that I lost 'sweet' from my vocab, but 'awesome' is still there...so's 'totally awesome', but that is reserved for the proper times - LOL!!). I'm pretty sure we're related in some parallel universe sortof paradox, but that's a story for another day! :) :) :) :) LOL! Thanx so much for stopping by and you and Cyndy have a great week ahead of finding lots of fascinating things to trigger your pen's imagination (hers too!)! :) :) Yvette [I can sign my name now that the contest is over] :) :)

Wow, first I have to comment on your amazing presentation! I felt as if I watched them as I read! And by the way, I agree. Ants are fascinating! I love them too, as long as they don't invade my home, mypicnicOR my FLESH (*grin*-Jamaica has fire ants! YIKES! Ouch!)

What a wonderful poem! Best of luck in the booth!

What a unique topic of choice for this trinet poem. A colony of ants is quite intriguing. They are able to accomplish so much for such a little size! I loved your description of this! Best of luck in the contest. You have a solid entry!

Excellent! You had good theme development using the different aspects of this insect's life and goals. Three stanzas... equals three aspects. Complete loyalty and following the leaders, always working for harvests for food, and survival of the colony at all costs. Well done on this Trinet entry.

Ants are fascinating all right unless you happen to sit on top of a mound of red ants or sticking your hand inside a glover filled with bullet ants. I liked how you gave physical movement to your poem.

I like watching ants too. Your poem describes them very well. I've even been known to feed them to watch them carry it into their nests. Once they got a nice healthy feast of potato chips. LOL Good luck in the contest.

What an AMAZING trinet. One worthy of a six, but I have none left. Just know, writer, your work is worth the six I should have given it. The presentation, expertly chosen words, formatting completion, and content all make this a strong contender in the contest. No corrections as it follows the rules perfectly. Good luck in the contest. I love this entry. And, I learned something, too!

I used to sit and watch ants for hours...they don't move so fast when it's cloudy...they seem to know where to go after communicating with the other ants ...antennae touching and then finding the food...fascinating...poem
God bless
