Hello DR DIP, you've penned a heartfelt poem. I especially liked your repeating line:

All that's left of me is you
(WOW! If the above ain't the truth ... be it spouse, child, lover, partner etc.
When we pass to another life, all that's left of us is what we have given and
shared with others. Hopefully, most of it is our best.)

I also liked:
You're my pill that really calms

DD, I will remember the two lines cited above. They will not be easily forgotten. By the way, age 64 is middle-aged because many people are living to age
80, 90, 100, 105, so keep on writing and keep on surfing. You have lots of miles to go. Just sharing here ... you poem spoke to me and pulled on my heartstrings because I'm in remission from Stage 3 Cancer and while I was recovering from my cancer, I had a lot of time to think about life and what I'll leave behind ... the intangibles vs. tangibles. Things, life, memories that can only come from me.
Well done. Real writing. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

SIX star write.

As you know I am a man of repeating lines, and i know they can only work well when the poem is written well, and you have done an excellent job here. There is a meloncholly but joyful text that is both personal, yet for the many, and warmly delivered.
Bravo.
This would have gotten a sixth star had I one, but if I wait any longer it will disappear. Know it worth.
My bst wishes.
RG

Hi Dip. This is a very nicely composed poem. Touching and tender. Our life experiences are comforting as we age with the one we love. Good job. Marilyn

I do enjoy reading your poetry and I do understand time restrains. That's my problem. My paying job takes a lot of my time. I wish it was the other way around. I enjoyed your romantic poem.

I love the poem and I love the picture! I also believe in love and not 'throwing it away'. I'm glad you write from the heart, I do as well. I think your poem was well stated and written. Good rhymes and cadence. This really is quite a good poem!!!!

A tender and touching poem about a long lasting love.
It takes a strong love to last through years of ups and downs.
We just celebrated our 50th anniversary so this poem resonated with me.
I hope you enjoy many more years with her. Thanks for sharing.

this poem describes to me the unexplainable moments when I just look at my wife reading a newspaper or writing a letter and my love for just wells up, seemingly for no reason. your write captures those moments, Dip...........thank you..............meeshu

A very well-written poem about love that last until the end, that is not common anymore in our modern time where it seems more easy to get divorce and forget about the mistake we made rather than working around the differences we have.

well, Dr. Dip, I like and appreciate your poem, and understand your meaning.
It is dear and tender,
however, Sir, I have to say, (and please know that I'm teasing you here) that being a female, I would not like being called a pill - calming or not.
How about:You're like a song that...
or fresh air, or a dream?
What do you think?

hmmm I know where your coming from but I do not use 'pill' in a demeaning way in this context. Its purely a metaphor of endearment in my eyes. But hey that's the beauty of poetry everyone takes away a different emotion and interpretation.
I really appreciate you reviewing and saying what you think and I take on board what you think.

    Much appreciated, Dip

Wonderful, beautiful, completely heartfelt...the image is perfect for this work of art that you have composed. It brings to me a happy sadness of growing old with the man I love. Thank you for sharing.
