I really hope that events on this earth dont haunt me once I leave this mortal coil. It all depends on what you believe as no one knows the final truth. You might pay for your mistakes here on this earth they may haunt you then again they may not and your spirit will, at last, be free. Enjoyed your poem, it asks the real questions.

Poor guy. I wonder what he did that haunts him so much. Call it karma or reaping what you've sown, things work out in the end. I don't think he'll get a big punishment for a small mistake.

This is a beautiful and emotion plea to God. It would be grand to know if things haunt us after death, or can we truly be forgiven. No matter how much faith one has, these questions do linger deep inside us because truly no one really knows for sure. Great job! :)

Another good offering from you. I found it to be deep and thought provoking. As beautiful as this earth is, it is sometimes easy to forget that this is the Devil's playground. I can only hope and pray that when my soul leaves this flesh that only goodness and love follows and none of the nonsense of this world follows.

This is an intriguing piece of introspection. It makes for good flash fiction.

Personally, I would revise O man, how right you're! to O man, how right you are! I know you're is a contraction for you are, but using it in this context doesn't work for me.

Apart from that, there's nothing else I would change :)

I hope you are not really feeling punished for a lifetime for small mistakes--we all make them and that would not be fair! Your title spelling out the word "head" is very creative, and the picture you selected depicts anguish well. Sighs- Joan

Very thought provoking! I hope less and less people go through the same thing just before their passing. But it's hard. Even little mistakes can haunts us, as you say. Great job! I love the way you express yourself.

Even in writing prose this author speaks his mind and his devotion to God in his own style, in his own rules. This has made his posts interesting and worth looking forward to. Thanks for sharing.

You said much with few words. There was a poetic feel to the short piece. After having to deal with various health issues over the last few years, I have been thinking about my own mortality and wasted time. I could relate to this work. I felt like I was reading something from medieval times.
