This is, in some sense of the words, a summation of the poem, "The Dash," which lets us know we are a sum of all the things we think, do, and say between the dashes on our tombstone. Good luck in the contest.

Read your poem and author's notes, interesting. Have listened to and read the accounts of people who were legally dead and came back to life and many of their stories were related in that their entire life was played before them but they were not judged or penalized for their misdeeds. They didn't go any further than that, but all expressed the feeling of complete peace they felt there, and told of the beauty of everything. Most said they did not want to come back but were told it was not their time.
It is very true that we are what we speak, scribe or express but I think also what we think, as God knows our thoughts.

I really like the message here as it's one I've always subscribed to: do what you say and say what you do. Seems simple enough, but I've learned it's harder than it looks. Definitely easier to evaluate a person's actions than their words though. Great work here, thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Whether it's our actions or words that are spoken or written... they are mighty swords in our hands that can slice another's word apart as swiftly as if it was the forged steel. Our choices in life, our beliefs and goodwill, will determine what happens at heaven's gate. Smile, Carol
