I do agree! I look at history and marvel at how many lands were colonized simply by the show of more powerful weaponry. Good illustration of the word which connects clearly to Neptune, the god of the ocean.

Hi Craig,

"Neptunist" ... yay ... a word that I could figure out before reading the poem. :)

Yes, although the grass seems greener on the other side, we can be thankful for the times in which we live in. It may not be perfect, but it could be a whole lot worse.

I like the approach that you took in writing this ... to have a childhood dream of becoming a "Neptunist of note", and then in adulthood to realize that it really wasn't a practical dream to have. An adult can see the downside of it.

Excellent rhyming and good imagery created for your reader, as well as a very good message conveyed.
