Great poem about a great time and a fun sister. I'm glad you didn't leave this famous poodle attire out of your poodle studies.

Your search for answers only reveal one pertinent one. AS the song says, :Girls just want to have fun." Surprise guys, this is a little known fact. stop treating girls as a foreign species. Girls like guys, enjoy laughs, drinks, an occasional some or toke, and yes good sex. Surprise, surprise. Take the right approach to women and you will have one hell of a good time.

Okay, nomi. Girls want to smoke herb and knock back Jell-O shots. Bless them.

What could be wrong with that? As long as none of those girls are my daughter or grand daughter. LOL.

And don't forget the ponytails! :) ;) So, a fun poem and one that uses a word I don't think I've heard since back in high school when I had to learn it! ;) :) The fact that you rhymed cigarettes and suffragettes..? Kudos, sir!! :) ;)

Thanx for sharing! :) Yvette

Lol! Somehow I think that poodle skirts sort of reduces or negates the power of the suffragettes. And the smoking of cigarettes hardly seems a worthwhile equality to fight for. Good presentation!

The term suffragette is used tongue-in-cheek

What an excellent humorous poem Bill. This poem can be taken a couple of ways. Did she lead or follow? What is her life style now? Don't answer the questions, please, because they are not my business. My sisters are a little older than you. Both are retired school teachers with a passel of great-grandkids. One did as your sister did, and the other was straight and narrow. They both did rather well financially, with good kids and families. It must have been nurture and not nature.

Thanks, Henry. My oldest sister likely wore the skirt. The one in the middle did the drinking and smoking. I wore the halo.

He he he you made me smile Bill! Did those suffragettes really drink beers? Maybe they did as they were quite strong women! And I thank them to this day! Your poem is a lot of fun, from the skirt to the poodle on it, love Dolly x

I remember those skirts well, but I never wanted one. You must have read about them, because I know you're too young for that time. I think the more outgoing girls had these skirts. I was too shy for the attention it would get.

I think they came and went like nehru jackets and elephant bells.

I love the skirt, Bill. I enjoyed your poem, it has a catchy rhythm and is very smooth. Did suffragettes drink beer?? I'll have to add that to my story, LOL. Well done.. :) Sandra xxx

The term suffragettes is used tongue-in-cheek here to signify women wanting freedom. and rights.

Hah, poodle skirts were so fashionable before my time, Bill. Your picture is great. I like the rhymes. Your lines flow smoothly with good rhymes, too. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Great poem about women being feminine but strong, wild and free! I loved the way the poem read and the picture you chose to use. I remember wearing skirts that had hems way below the knee and I had friends just like the picture depicts and your poetry describes.
