Another wonderful chapter to your story, Liz. I especially enjoyed the sad story of the angry sticks and the children. Your story is tender and well described. Wonderful job. Good luck int he contest with this fine entry. Marilyn

This work has reached the exceptional level

Dear Willow, so forgiving and full of compassion for the children who had scarred her, for reasons she understood. And Bea, so understanding herself and in touch with the MAKER of trees, children, hope and so much more, gently reminded Willow to keep standing tall in spite of her scars, sadness, etc. for the music she played through her grace-filled leaves, cannot but enchant those around her and invite them to smile, sing and dance to the wonder and adventure of life and sharing hope, joy and love with all we encounter on our way.

Thank you for such a beautifully reflective review. I'm so pleased you get it. Willow actually is from a lengthy poem I wrote on a retreat. She represents me with my ministry to abused, neglected children with lots of anger throughout my career of caring. Thank you for the six stars, I am delighted.

Thank you for sharing your encounter with the beaver and Bea, the wee bear. I liked her comparison of "the Fears" to "fifty bees...flying around inside her". Your lessons are fascinating. Cheers- Joan

Another lovely chapter away, Liz.

This one emphasizes the idea of empathy, which is a good lesson for the kids to understand and also maintains that valuable wide-eyed innocence feel of Bea which will help them relate well to the little bear on this voyage of discovery.

This is absolutely beautiful! I love the conversational tone of the story and the wisdom it reveals. The MAKER is so creatively central to the unique union of humankind and nature which you've portrayed so eloquently with your words, and what a wonderful friendship it reveals with so many bonds at so many levels.

"Stand Proud" was well written and rich in Theme and Imagery.
It read Well and Flowed well with no grammar issues as well.
Adjective Content and Objective Content were both excellent and exceptional while Descriptive Measures aligned perfectly.

What a sweet friend little Bea is. She understands the sorrow that Willow has gone through and Willow is the perfect one to symbolize a person in depression as we remember the weeping willow tree and it's a tree that gives so much (like salicylic acid) and helps us with our pain.

Thank you for you reflective review. Willow is actually a spin-off from a rather lengthy poem I wrote about her. She represents me as I've worked with many children in abusive situations. And I've always felt that they knew I was a safe person to strike out at. Because I would still love them.

Wonderful ministry you had to children. I guess also that's why kids strike out at moms because it's safe for them to do so.

Really enjoyed this fun and sortof deep installment to Bea's little tale -- her conversations with the proud Willow are enlightening to everyone about the scars left on trees as well as on wildlife as a whole! :) :) Thanx for sharing -- always enjoy! :) :) Yvette
