I think this deserves six stars because it is so expressive, so real, so smoothly flowing and so full of emotion. I could find nothing about it I'd want to be different. It seems perfect to me. I'm glad to meet you Amanda. My name is Adonna. ;p

Excellent poem with a good message. Often those we go to for help don't understand or are incapable. Even after publishing, they still miss the point. Great example of being surrounded by others doesn't preclude loneliness. Hugh

Exactly Hugh! Thank you so much! :)

Well done with this poem about an often forgotten truth. I have often asked the question your title is in many ways including the one in the poem. Many fail to understand that just because people are near by, loneliness doesn't go away.

Excellent Poem! The author's words are strong, clear, creative and
thought provoking. The reader pondered on the theme of this poem.
The artwork is perfect and compliments both the theme and words
of this poem.

I really like this poem. You state so well what so many people feel. It is sad how often this takes place. Congratulations on the win it is well deserved.

Your poems speaks truth and with veracity. Until others deem it important, those well often go to for comfort and strength often turn the other cheek. The bold, yet simplistic verbiage chosen add to the strength of the piece. It's relatable and definitely weaves a tale of loneliness and realism. Well penned, Amanda. I am glad you won the contest. It was an excellent entry. Congratulations.

Hi Amanda, a good free verse and I can see why you won the contest. Well written and I particularly like your final stanza 'I post my needs publicly; my family is mad.
Hey! they replied, you should have told us. I tried.' Sad when loneliness is ignored and you made some good points in this piece. CONGRATULATIONS! Warm regards Dorothy

I am fortunate that I have never personally experienced loneliness but I have known people who have. You have so poignantly described this condition as I understand it.
