This is very clever. We DO think we understand time and work within it's demands, but sometimes it seems to move slowly and at other times swiftly. Good luck in the contest with this fine entry. Marilyn

Time--it shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Twenty-four hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, etc. It should be the same. But time doesn't always move in the same way for us. Sometimes an hour can speed by. A year can drag by or pass before we realize it. We certainly misunderstand time. Excellent contest entry, and best of luck. judi

I love the presentation, with the artwork especially suited, to the One Line Poem. This is a head-scratcher, for sure. I try to wrap my head around the saying, "the most misunderstood understanding." But, to no avail. I think this one went way over my head, I'm sorry to say. I love the words. I just don't understand the meaning, and I feel left out of some secret knowledge, I should know about. Thank you for encouraging me to think. I will ponder this poem in the aftermath.
Take care, Jesse

Hey Kiddo... let me take a moment (see what I did there)... if time is misunderstood it is because it has soooo many ways it presents itself to us... it is not just a measurement for a clock... it is measured say by the Maasai by the moon and they have no need to follow a 24 hours day... or it is experienced by building up enough distance and personal time to get over a life event. It can be internal... we are in a situation and our inner clock (not greenwhich) gives us healing...
The thought is so strange because we think we understand TIME... because it is a scientific measurement.
Always a pleasure... yours, diana

Hi Diana
I agree. Time is much more flexible than a scientific measurement. It slows down when we wait for something or someone, yet is speeds up when we are having a great time and not watching the clock. Thank you for the clarification. I understand now, more than before. I love your 'take' on things like Time. You have a unique and clever perspective on life.

I really like poems on the topic of time - this one is no exception. People really have no concept of it at all, and yet we govern our lives by it and live to the rules of the clock. An excellent observation on your part and a great submission for this contest. Not a word wasted.

Time is man's invention in order to encore events, but time really exist? Are we putting a stamp on something we should have ignored? Your one liner begs that question! Very clever, love Dolly x

Most interesting writing. I find it. art work is like some mine I never put here. that is ok too. why should we all be the same. I can not find anything wrong with it, other then it is just not my bag of tea. but I sure not mark down because of that. GB
