Good job with the required words of the contest, Mystery Author. Your few words say a lot. I believe that a gift should be given with no expectations from the receiver. It is the spirit of giving that's important. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Jan

Hi there, to say something really profound and meaningful will never be an easy task in so few words. You seem to have managed. Truly, be happy forever is a hard act to follow, though, as life will always have its ups a downs. Good luck in the contest. All the best, Ulla:))

I couldn't imagine why the words 'happy and sear' were in bolder colors until I realized it was a contest entry and the two words had to be used. If I'm to be honest, the use of 'seer' sounds contrived. Nevertheless, I hope you do well in the contest.

Though it is not an acrostic poem ,the reader 'gets' something out of it!Give always more and expect nothing... this is the sure of way of gathering peace. when you have expectations you tend to get disappointed

All the best for he contest .Few words ...but they say a lot.

I like the enthusiastic tone and the gem of wisdom portrayed. AS Saint Francis always said: it is in giving that we receive. I like your rhyme in the middle lines. I like the alliteration of the closing line. I like the flow, though I do have two suggestions for your consideration:

Expect nothing in return(,) ever!

Truly, be happy forever.(--)
Says a seer!

Generosity is its own reward~!

Warmly, rd

That is so true, this nugget of wisdom has always worked for me. When I give something to someone in need, I forget it totally not expecting I will be rewarded for doing so. Thanks for sharing.

If it were an acrostic it would read GETS. However, you talk of give. Perhaps the rule is not so much give all the time but give when is needed or when the giver is generous, because he can be. Your message, though, is sound; giving is beautiful.

Very simple but true... Expecting anything seems to lead only to disappointment. While Giving brings such joy, and hope if anything that the gift is appreciated. If not, then no loss, there is always another day to try again. Your poem is a a good message.

Interesting how the poem tells us that the secret of happiness is to give and expect nothing in return and yet the poem spells out GETS so by giving without expecting, one "gets" happiness.
