Well that is a really nice looking spud, Craig. It's got some good eyes on it and would likely grow four nice sized potato plants. I prefer red potatoes though. LOL

Now you see if you didn't explain what the term budgie smugglers mean I would've figured it was bird smugglers, and heaven forbid thank goodness it's not the dreaded arsefoot.

Great job and a fun poem, and I more or less got the political gist even though a perfectly good tater was wasted in the process.

A 60-year-old ex Prime Minister with a penguin tucked down his Speedos is not something I care to see, Gloria! Many thanks for the fun review :) Craig

Thanks for this entertaining political humor which I will quickly forget because I don't know any of the people. But I'll remember budgie smuggler more than after-roll.
I wonder if one could consider the continuous return of Tropical Storm Lane as a 'after-roll?'

Quite possibly, Helen. As far as forgetting things, anyone who has ever seen our ex-pm in a pair of budgie smugglers almost certainly wishes they could :) Cheers, Craig

Thanks for defining the Australian English here, and for setting us straight on Australian politics.
I love your subtitle. It's probably my favorite part of the poem. You're right. Australian politics don't hold a candle to America's.

In spite of the explanations, I don't expect it will mean a lot to those who don't live here. I think it could bring a smile to the face of one or two who do. Thanks, Debbie.
