Well CD this girlie Michelle seems to be quite the contender and you better be on your A-game to compete with her. So all the guys that intend to compete with her better bring it I love it

Excellent sonnet - and beautiful use of the most elegant word, "equestrienne." Your choice of title is great, too - it sounds tough and brave, much like Michelle Payne, I would imagine!

Thanks so much, Robbie, for the kind comments. Yes, I think Michelle must be quite brave. She had a few nasty falls and did herself some major damage, but she kept on getting back on that horse. Cheers, Craig

This is a fabulous write with magnificent flow and choice words and what an event it was too! Bravo for the girls is what I say, you used the word which of course we have heard of and put it to good use here, indeed the word is the essence of the poem, magical, I'm out of sixes but this deserves one, love Dolly x

A very well-written poem about the female horse rider who wins the race above all the men contestants. It is surely embarrassing for males to stand back for a female in this sport.

Thanks very much, Sandra. In some ways, it's odd that it took so long for a woman to win this particular event, as they have been competing against men in equestrian at Olympics for a long time, I think, with great results. Still, 2003 was the first time a woman entered, so I guess 12 years isn't that long.

very interesting story, I don't know much about horse racing outside of the United States. I love the way your poem flows, it's very smooth, CD..............meeshu
