Ciao, my friend, what a sweet little story about how you found your little furry friend.
It's sad that someone just left them there, good thing you came along:)) I'm sorry about his passing, pet are like family members and it's sad to see them go.
Good luck in the contest. ~Kerry

    Ciao Kerry!

I had many after but he will always be special to me .

Finding him and still alive (his two siblings didn't survive the chilly weather of that September morning) was a miracle ..

He loved sitting on my lap or in my shirt.

And sitting on my back while I was washing my hair over the bathtub 😋

I cried a bit while writing this poem.

A warm thank you for taking time to review it ..and to think it was worth a six star vote.

What a heartwarming poem, as an animal lover myself, I really identified with it. I am glad that you were able to save the poor cat! I am sorry that you lost your furry friend but I am sure you spent many great years together.

i'm happy you enjoyed reading my poem. I had many cats after him but he was special because I brought him up literally from day one.
I remember how scared I was ..I didn't want him to die because I did something wrong.
He loved to nestle in my shirt when I was sitting down or perch on my shoulder while I was doing chores in the house..
Even when I was washing my hair over the bathtub he would sit on my back (biggrin)
Thank you for the review and the 5 star vote!

Such a sweet poem. Often the acts of kindness we practice come back to benefit us ten fold. Such was the story here. Rescue animals have such big hearts. It's amazing with what they go through that they find the power love and trust. I am a firm believer in karmic energy. Careful what you practice; it comes back around. Well written with great pace and flow and good rhyming. Nice sequencing of story. Excellent. Hugh

Thank you so much for your review and the 5 star vote.
I definitely beileve in karmic energy too. No judge or jury ..what ever good or bad comes your way is your own making.
    ...makes sense to me.
Even though it was a free hand poem I tried to make it sound like it had a bit of a rhyme ..I'm happy you appreciated the effort.
Have a nice sunday Hugh McDowell.

Such a wonderful tribute to a devoted companion -- we all have that special one that keeps us company without asking any insane questions or expecting conversation, just companionship. :) :) It is a write that is straight from the heart, tells a story, and delivers a wonderful 'pay it forward' message...Miracle is lovely and I hope you've found another to, not take his place, but fill his job! :) :)

Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest

Even if I was tired or stressed out at the end of the day I enjoyed sitting with my "boy."..tickling and combing him while he purred ...I really miss that ..he also loved to nestle in my shirt and somethimes I could even feel his heart beat . I have had several after him but he was special. I cried a couple of times while I was writing the poem .
I'm happy you enjoyed reading the poem.
    Have a nice Sunday!

That is a terrible thing--to dump stray animals like that. You were so kind to take the poor kitties in, but it ultimately paid off. Your precious cat lived a long life and knew he was loved. If that's the cat the picture, he was a beautiful animal. Our pets really don't ask much of us, and they give a lot in return. "Miracle" is a good title. This is reading more like prose than poetry. Maybe if you would make your lines shorter, that would enhance the effect. Best of luck in the contest. judi

Well sadly people dump newborn babies in the rubbish too ...a lot of animals , pets get mistreated .

Yes that's my "boy" in the pic..he's on the radiator warming up.

Miracle : because that day I heard his desperate squeals...30 mintes later and he would have been picked up with the local daily morning trash . Miracle that he survived the chilly morning atmophere ( his two other siblings didn't).
Mircle he made it despite I had no training on how to bring up a newborn kitten..
    .
Thanks you . I appreciate your input . ..I didn't get around to making the lines shorter. because I had a bad week ..Today is the first anniversay of my pa's death...and I have been crying alot in the last few days...

Sometimes newborn human babies don't fare any better. That was one lucky kitty, and he turned out to be such a handsome fellow, and he must have repaid you handsomely for your kindness. Your thoughts about your father made me sad, too, because this is the birthday of my sister, who died about ten years ago. judi

These are heartfelt words and you touched mine and brought a tear, you saved a life and he in return repaid you with his loyalty and love, such a wonderful free-write and I enjoyed every word, an insight to the differences in the human soul, one good, one bad, and of course you were the good one, love Dolly x

Hello, sounds like you lost a friend, and pets are like that, they love so unconditionally and are more important than we realize. I think what goes around comes around. What a horrible thing. Great story in your poem. I enjoyed it, but I am sorry for your loss and hope you have a lovely day, Ana.

Thank you for your review and 5 star vote. Ana....There were many kittens and cats after but he was special ..he was the first I saved ( a few hours old) .I was so scared he would die out of sheer ignorance on my part. ...even when I washed my hair over the roman bath he would sit happily on my back.

I did cry a few times while I was preparing the poem.

Sadly newborn babies get thrown in the trash so disposing a kitten for some will seem irrelevant.,.

You have a nice week end too Ana.
