Nice little ditty you wrote here, your meter is spot-on as usual, and you are right about Father Time - he's a thief! Otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here with an aching back at my computer.
Oh you might be interested to know I used the word 'mellifluous' on my husband...
"Honey, your voice is so mellifluous", to which he replied, "what the h_ll are you talking about?"

He really said, "What the h_ll?" He was obviously brought up better than my other half ;-) Now I'm going to have fun with each new word, imagining you throwing it at an unsuspecting hubby lol

Okay, I must tell you that finding the pronunciation of 'cyllenian' is not so easy to do. I assume it's sill EN ian ?

I can't swear to it, but I think coming from Mt Cyllene, it would be pronounced "sill EEN ian".

Superb one, Craig! I enjoyed reading about the birthplace of Hermes and that his speed links him to thieves, well at least to some forms. And I like the deeper, philosophical message viewing Time as a thief. Great job!

Hi Craig, I see that you're now into some mythology stuff, and if he was into stealing time he must be around here somewhere, because a lot of my time is being stolen. My sleeping time that is. It's 'Fiesta' time in my village and we are now on the second week. Lively throughout the day and music until six in the morning. Oh, my, am I tired. He's here somewhere! Great work. I'm digging out the earplugs, trying to get a few hours' sleep. I kid you not! Ulla:))

Thanks very much for the lovely words Shauna. I did make some minor changes at the end, as I knew someone would pick me up on a couple of metrical issues; but nothing significant, I hope. Glad to hear of your interest in the ancient deities. Although I'm no expert, I find them far more interesting than the usual fare :)
