I can understand how you hate to discard certain items. I also have a problem with purging clothes closets and dresser drawers. What if it comes back into style? I might decide to make that quilt after all. So much stuff! Even material to cover a chair, which I know deep in the core of me, will never happen. You explain your dilemma well. You're not a clutterer but you don't like to part with things that have sentimental value either. One thing that comforts me is how I never actually miss any of the things I have given away or discarded. Out of sight, out of mind.

Good little story. Made me think about my own attachment to things. Good luck in the contest.

You did a great job with your non-fiction contest entry. I enjoyed reading it. I believe all those memories tied up in those scraps are great. You explained your thought/feelings well. It is difficult for most to part with those sentimental 'things.' But if you do, then you will have the memories. Good job & best wishes. Jan
