This intrigue is set in the most amazing place Paris. I love reading it for the story and the Frenchness. I studied French in high school and college but I have never been to Paris..I'd love to go to Versailles.

The scenes with Helen playing you, manipulating you and toying with your emotions were well scripted. Great descriptions put us right there; we feel the pain when she puts Vodka on the cut; we feel the shock when she sticks the electric toothbrush in your back; we feel her hands caressing and softening you up. Still an air of mystery; why is she so interested? The light spring day lifts up the mood in the background. The suspense pulls us from chapter to chapter. estory

Even Bond once drove a Citroen deux chevaux or was it a renault to distruction in one of the movies so exotic cars are not a requirement of the genre. Held to ransom by an electric toothbrush though, now that is so unbondlike. Surely Q would have incorporated a lethal stiletto into the device.

Thank goodness Q hasn't got at my electric toothbrush. I find it lethal enough as it is! As for women like Helen - I'm having enough trouble with her as a work of fiction! Not sure that I could handle her in the flesh - so as to speak.
