Ah now that proves animals have more sense than we credit them with, but it is strange how they know when you will arrive home from work, or when they are due to arrive home from a trip - very good and love the hint at humour

I'm always saying how smart animals are. They can do some amazing things, but there are people who still think they're dumb animals. Thank you for reviewing.

Hahahahha, Yvonne, I can just imagine this. Wonderful! Just imagine a four legged canine walks into the vet's reception but the owner has stayed back home. Great, and good luck in the contest. Warm regards. Ulla:)))

Lol. Humor for sure shines in this short story. I like the unlikely turn of events. What dog would volunteer to go to the Vet? Yes this is a memorable one. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for sharing your work.

Thank you, Sandy. This really happened at my vet's. The dog lived right down the street, but it seemed he knew when his appointment was. 8-)

Very funny. My cat always knows when it's time to go to the vet and hides under the ned. This is an excellent entry in the contest. According to my personal psychic advisor, who by the way, is the smartest chimp on earth, you will win and send me half the funny money. Thanks in advance.

Only if you promise to share your next win. 8-)

My cats don't mind going to the vet. They sit in my lap until it's time to go in. They love their vet.

What an awesome dribble!! (don't think I've said that since the boys were potty training over 2 decades ago!) LOL! :) :) Seriously, though, this is a brilliant write for the 50 word limit -- tells the story and gets a reaction from the reader - great job!! :) :)

As always, thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest!! :) :) Yvette

This a great flash fiction. I wasn't prepared for that ending
, it came as a great surprise. A very well written dribble.
I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Best wishes Jen.

Hi, Yvonne,

This is wonderful!!! The fact that it is true is beyond funny. Such a conscientious little dog. This bit of flash fiction is a winner if ever there was. Thank you for sharing. This made my morning,

Nicely done Yvonne,

You've got the fifty words right on the nose here. It's like one of those old jokes given another twist.

Neat entry for the comp.

All the best
G

Good job! Reminds me of the dog (or was it a cat?) who would take the bus every day, both ways. People on the bus got used to seeing him as a regular passenger. He didn't pay, but the driver let him ride anyway. :)

How cute. You never know what animals are going to do next, but they're so smart, it's never surprising to me. Thanks a lot, Phyllis.

This is a lovely story but I have to warn against the remark in the notes that says this really happened. This writing is supposed to be fiction and, if it really happened, it isn't. If it isn't fiction you will be disqualified. Just lose that remark in the notes. No one will really believe it happened, it is justoo fantastic.
