A very well-written Nonet about a mother who cannot look after herself anymore and the children takes the role of parent and look after her until the end, so many great mothers that give everything to their children end up needing help and care themselves.

Thank you for your review, kiwi - very much appreciate your taking the time to read my writing! :) :) I knew it wasn't the traditional nonet, but I just got the visual "right there" and went with the inspiration...'cuz you know what they say about a woman getting something in her head...?! LOL! I am glad you enjoyed it and I hope you carry good memories of your mom as well - they always will own a very special part of our heart! ;) :) Again, thank you for those shining stars! :) :) Here's wishing you a remainder of the week filled with moonlit nights and firefly acrobatics!! :) :) Yvette

Hello YMR
An excellent and refreshing approach to the Nonet form which deftly creates a narrative with the lightest of brushstrokes.
The form itself can be very cruel to a writer who might run out of space and need to fracture their words to get their thought(s) across, but not in this case which reads as a credit to your planning and your vocabulary.
A very strong write and I wish you well in your contest with this.
Good writing.
cheers
phill

This is a well thought our nonet. I like the repeated 'mom'. Your picture is a great pairing with your well chosen words. good job on the syllable count per line. Best wishes. Jan

This is a very beautiful and well written nonet poem you have penned for the contest. You picked a very good subject about something that happens in life at times. You used very good words and lovely art work. Best wishes in the contest, Teri

Great picture. Poem reads like a story. A lot of people have to take care of others, some like it and some do not. I think A lot depends on how they were treated as children. Good luck in the contest.
