Very well done. The only suggestion I have is to use a capital M on Mom, since it's used as a name (without MY, YOUR, THEIR, etc. in front). Once the reader catches on to what is happening, it becomes a sad piece, but a fact of life.

ignore this message -- only way I could figure out how to send in a nomination for the reviewing contest....which I forgot to do because I was in such a hurry on the last reply.....I blame the blond hair! ;) :)

This is an outstanding poem. Touches my heart. Illustrated beautifully. I wish you much luck in the contest, but I don't think you will need it. It looks like a winner to me. Marilyn

Your poem made me cry thinking of mamma. I didn't get the chance to say good bye. She died suddenly .
My father instead passed away 10 months ago after being sick a long time. Seeing him suffer and helpless was worse than not being able to hold my mamma's hand and be close to her on her passing.
My vote 6!

A daughters love never floundering and staying strong to take care of her mom till the very end. When parents get old we must face the loss we know is coming in the end.

Good evening, Y.M.Roger
Losing our mothers is one of the toughest experiences we will ever have to go through. I know it was for me as I watched her die. Still... that's life and we too will be dead n gone...
Great Nonet poem that brings about a great sense of grief.
kind regards

Having just lost my father on May 26th of this year I could fully relate to the touching sentiments expressed herein, Yvette.
My dad was laid to rest on Friday, June 1st, the day after Labor Day after succumbing to his five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
It's tough to lose a beloved member of our family. It seems even tougher when that beloved someone is a parent.
This Nonet is not "just" another contest entry. It is a touching tribute to loving and caring mothers everywhere.

This nonet, There to the End, has the correct 9-1 descending format and marks the moments as our loved one leaves, knowing she is loved here and there. Sweet.
