Oh, this is one of your best. I am a huge fan of King Arthur and the folks of Camelot. You have just contributed to the lore. I'm glad t'was Mordred lost his crown. That's a better ending than the Lancelot tales.

Wow what a cool word...a cankerfret.....I've had canker sores...I've fretted over sick kids , exams I've seen fret work that I've admired ...but the combination word is cool..
I like Arthur's yard sale...did anyone fret over Mordred's demise...he was a canker sore in Camelot's mouth for sure.
God bless

Thanks for the excellent comments, Jenny. I doubt too many mourned nasty old Mordred's passing. Maybe his mom :) Cheers, Craig

And Excalibur wins again. That word makes sense my friend. King Arthur could never let such an insult stand and of course he had to defend the Crown. Mordred never stood a chance against Excalibur. Love it! Well done. :) Nancy

A very well-written poem about Excalibur's sword that seems to be a mystery that leads to the sword enfused in a rock. No one knows how it gets there or how it was placed inside the rock.

Now this is just terrific, Craig. Excellent metre and rhyme in perfect ballad form and the word couldn't fit into place better.

Fantastic all around and Mordred finally got his just deserts.

Exceptional! I love it when I read something that has been creatively re-worked, such as this brilliant piece. I particularly loved your use of "ne'er-do-well", "besmirching of his sword", and how you worked "cankerfret" into your write.

Excellent rhyming and lovely presentation. The whole poem made me smile. Great job, Craig!

That was a fun read. It flowed right along, without any errors to distract from the story or the great, steady rhythm. And it developed full rounded images as it journeyed by. I love the old stories of King Arthur and Excalibur. You revived my interest in the old tale. Well done, CD Richards.

Hilarious! :) :) Great rhythm and it flows facetiously to the humorous ending - reader can't help but enjoy...and isn't that the point of such a write? :) :) Great job!! :) :)

Thank you so very much for sharing (as always!)! :) :) Yvette :)

hi Craig,

Super piece here. the rhythm, as far as my uneducated ear could determine, never faltered. Excellent flow, fun and nice use of that word. lol

All the best
