Good uplifting story flash fiction. I lost my little dachshund who was very attached to me when I left him with a dog-sitter. We were in Paris, and rushed back to spend months trying to find him - offering rewards -- but it never happened. I still find it hard (after almost three years) to forgive the dog-sitter for letting him out of her house without a leash.

Oh, my heart is breaking for you. Somehow, I know he misses you, still, even though he found an adoptive family who loves him. You can forgive your sitter now. Your sweet boy will never forget you and will see you some day with all of his stories. Take care. Love and blessings, Lo

This is just the kind of coincidence that a person might pray for if their family pet went missing. Grandpa would most definitely have been the hero of the moment!

Always love to read poems about dogs. Glad this has a happy ending. We do not know how a dog thinks but they know how to show love no matter if you are rich or poor.

I love a happy ending. I was so happy Fred was found. How fortuitous that Grandpa decided to stop at the place where Fred was. I love the picture..I love the story. Thank you for sharing.

This is a cute story of how a boy loses his beloved dog, and they are re-united again. Never give up hope! Good job on writing a short story that satisfies the reader. I wish you all the best! Therese

LL,

I have to admit, if this was the dog lost/to be rescued - I would definitely step up! hahaha! The image is adorable. But I enjoyed your story, too. Good luck in the voting!

That's my baby, Betsie. She's my buddy. When my husband died, I got her, she crawled up on my lap, and she never left. Blessings, Lo

I like the happy ending, Fred ends up home. Excellent story that makes the reader feel good. I feel so bad for lost dogs, your theme is one, many can relate to. Excellent writing here and I wish you well in the contest.

Hi there,

What a great little bit of flash fiction. I wondered about the serendipity of the situation, and I was happy that Gramps brought the right dog to Oliver.

Your short piece works well and is a great entry for the contest. I wish you luck,

~patty~

What a happy ending to a sweet story. Fred is back home where he belongs, and Oliver is happy. Grandpa brightened his whole world by bringing back his dog. It's nice to see an upbeat story for a change. So much written here is depressing. :)
