Another well done chapter in your intricately woven story. I hope Rachel is safe now but I can't wait to read more about that convoluted family of gangsters who I suspect are the ones that might be after Rachel..

Well done.

Jeannie is setting the table when she hears her youngest daughter Emma bounce(delete-s) into their apartment.

Jeanie ~ keep the spelling uniform, either with one n or with two.

Thank you for the summary for those of us just joining in on this tale. Your story about "bittersweet revenge" is fascinating and your use of dialog is very naturalistic, plus your leaving us in suspense is effective. Cheers- Joan

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, I''m so glad you enjoyed it. Bittersweet Revenge is the first of the series of the Berryville Detectives series, first one I have in print. It's how Rachel became interested in the law. The story is still in my profile if you want to read it.
Thank you again for your fabulous review it means so much to me, take care.

Oh no! Were left hanging. Well done as always, looking forward to finding out what the rattling noise is. =[

I need to take a bit of a break from reviews as I have an online card business that is booming at the moment, plus many special orders from my co-workers. Anyway, I can't review and make cards at the same time so will take a break but try to catch up later. I am bookmarking to easily access your stories later. Rox

It does sound as though Rachel is in trouble and someone is out to get her. Joe has assigned an undercover car to watch her house. I think she finally understands the fact she is in danger. Well done Dawn. Nancy:)

The excitement continues and so does the speculating.
Rachel is an interesting character.
She made an enemy for herself somewhere along the line.
Nice pacing.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Rachel definitely is something else. A strong woman with a personality that's larger than life. She's developed over the course of two years, my first characters, so she's one of my favorites.

You certinley know how to keep us readers want to keep reading your new book.
O I can Rachel is really getting up tight especially when she checked the locks on her door and windows, runs back to her bedroom;scooped up her gun from a metal lock box, she pops a clip in place-- then she Hears a window rattle, and turns towards the noise.

Poor, obstinate Rachel. She carries on a trick when they try to take her to hospital, Joe tries, but it's not until her dad her to behave that she does. Back at home she hears her window rattling, fortunately she has her gun. Good finish, now we are on tenterhooks. Well done, good episode, blessings, Roy

Thank you for your review and your suggestion. I'll fix that right now. Rachel can be a fierce little spitfire when she wants to be, lol. Poor Joe doesn't know how to handle her sometimes.

Hi Misty, I like this new story, but I'm still wondering what happened to Granny. Did they catch her in the end or what went down? I'm sorry about Rachel, but as least she's seemingly okay. All the best. Ulla:)))

So you're off on a new story. What happened in Granny's story? I see she is mentioned here as being mentally ill along with Emma, but I must have missed the end of that book... bummer. No one know she's a killer and Rachel keeps their secret!!!! Rachel? WHY???

Thank you for your review. Granny was caught then escaped while being transported to prison. You probably don't remember reading it because you review so many stories.
Granny was never mentioned in this book, where do you think she was?
I don't think you read Bittersweet Revenge. Rachel found out her mom, and Emma was killing all the men who hurt them. Rachel stalled the police long enough so they could get away. Why? family loyalty. Now you've mentioned it I'm going to go back look at that part, maybe explain more.
Did that answer your questions? If not let me know, alright.
Thank you again for your review and all your support, it means a lot to me, take care.

Are you saying Granny is Rachel's mom? The last thing I recall about Granny was the escape... or was their an accident too? I can't keep stories straight in my mind after a few weeks. Sorry.

Granny has nothing to do with this story. She was just a perp Rachel and the gang tried to put in jail.
Granny had several narrow escapes. The last escape before her capture was the two men. They killed them through them in Granny's car and set it on fire. They then stole the men's vehicle. When the men's car was shut down remotely they burnt it. They tried to flee to an abandoned pickup where they were caught. The story flashes forward to 6 months later. On the way to prison, Jackie and Granny escape. I hope that helps, if not let me know.

After Jackie and Granny escaped, what happened to them?
reply by the author on 09-Aug-2018
I left it at that, maybe pick it back up again when the old gal is rested? See Joe and Rachel heard the announcement on TV. Joe says here we go again. That's how the story ended.
reply by Phyllis Stewart on 09-Aug-2018
I'm glad she was never caught. I rooted for Granny... my hero!
