That back cover is a nightmare. It takes me longer to do that than it does to write the book, lol! How can it be easy to write in a few words what the whole book is about, and not tell the reader anything, just enough to titillate their senses and want to read it? It's an art in itself. It's crazy how this site can change your life. This is the place that gave me the courage to publish my book. I hated editing and formatting. I think those were the worse parts for me. When people ask me about having kids I just want to hand them my book and say here it is. It has hours of blood, sweat and tears. Okay, maybe not the blood part but it could have. I hope your book does great! Congratulations!

LOL! That is exactly right! And it was really painful, but at least now I am holding my baby in my hands, and what an amazing experience that is. Thank you so much, Gloria, for your congrats and the lovely review. It is probably the most gratifying experience (after having my children) that I have enjoyed. But, my goodness, the whole process is terrifying to begin with, I had many sleepless nights. But, I've am holding my book in my hands, and that is like winning a gold medal at the Olympics! . Congratulations on your book becoming live on Amazon, wow! That is nice. I am working towards getting to that point. You are correct that the writing is easier than the editing and promoting, but I have no problem editing, I am rather good at it, but it is the promoting part that is difficult. However, I do have like 12 Facebook groups, probably 20 or so pages, several of those pages have over 2,000 friends and I ask that they pass on the ad to their friends , etc. Good luck.

I'm hopeless with things like that.:( Thank you so much for the congrats, and giving me a hint as to how to go about promoting, even if I do find it hard to work out how to start. My brother and I work together on somethings, we share a computer at times, etc. But all things told, Facebook is a good medium in which to advertise, it is the one way to reach the most people at the very lowest price.

Hi Alie, lovely to hear from you, it's been ages since I posted. First off, I bought the cover picture from 'Can Stock Photo' it cost me the grand total of £6.50 about $8(?) it was just a picture that you can do what you want with. I was gobsmacked when I found it, I used it for my first book. When I went on Create Space, I uploaded it and could choose whatever font I wanted, and where I wanted the title, etc put, it did the spine for me and the back cover at no charge. I used it again for this one, and will use it for the third book. I don't know if you remember Cumbrian Lass, she has published loads of books, (they are really good too) She changed the picture a little bit, bringing in the boy, and the cottage at the bottom for the second book, then she did the title etc for me, she made such a good job of it. Now she wants to know what this next book will be called so she can change the bottom of the picture again for that one too. You are allowed to do all that with Can Stock Photos, they are brilliant! So, I ended up with 3 covers for £6.50!!
I will have to pay more for the licence for the picture once my book has sold over 50000 copies, so I told her, I would be very happy too do that if I can sell that many!
I'm having that sip for you now, thank you so much, my friend. Its times like this you really know who your real friends are on here, and it seems I have quite a few. And it's all down to each one of you that I've got this far. SOOOO I'll have another 'sip' for you! LOL. Big hugs, dear friend.

Wonderful, Sandra! I know the feeling we "mothers" have once we're done with "the labour pains" and can hold our baby in our hands and share this miracle with others.
I look forward to your next. I also hope you'll find the time to read the next one of mine and give me a review. I'm going to do the same with yours. At the moment I don't have much time here. I pop in once or twice a week and mainly empty my inbox.

I had my first children's book published at the age of 60, and my first book in this series at the age of 70, now 71 and this one is published! You are still a spring chicken, Monica!! LOL I wish I'd started at your age. :( But, I've done it, realised my dream, and now must finish what I started! It's a great life, my friend. You're right there, it's the hardest part! I've put out promotions, and made leaflets that my friends are going to pass around, and will now be going to the papers. They put a whole page in the Evening Echo for the first book last November, so hopefully they well help out this time too. Thank you for the congrats, Bob, that is so kind of you.
