The fall flower is a good metaphor for enduring the hardships of life and love. It lets you feel the strength of this enduring love. Congrats on the honorable mention in the contest.

I think this is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations for winning an honorable mention, though I think it should have been something higher up the scale. I love the clear, visual descriptions, and I especially loved how you turned the picture of nature into a picture of your enduring love. And... the meter and rhymes were comfortable all the way through. SO lovely! MM

Lovely! Just lovely! So smooth. Perfect meter and rhyme. I love the metaphor used here. I love the final stanza, I love "one bloom stands out" in the third stanza too! The title is fantastic! The pic is so pretty, presentation is great too! Great contest entry!

I love marigolds and my Mother had them in her garden and would complain that they spread too easily, but they were such a joy, just like your wonderful poem about them, enduring they are, I know that much! Love Dolly x

    When nothing else is blooming, good old marigolds are right there to brighten things up!
