I like the less traditional AABB rhyme sceme here...it gives your piece a rhyming couplet feel while coming together to tell a moving tale. Sometimes tragedy turns to triumph with faith and people pulling together. You drew me in with your tone and cadence and kept me right through to your meaningful final line!

instead got an uplifting father and son story. That was such a nice surprise. You are a good story teller. You understand reader's reactions and use that knowledge to create suspense and surprise. The poignant ending is more special that way.

This is awesome!! I feel like it should be a song in a Clint Eastwood movie... Or maybe John Wayne. They just don't make good western movies anymore but this would be the perfect story for one. I love how the story is told, beginning to end, and it's easy to visualize your characters. Great job!!

I saw absolutely no typos and the structure of the poem, stanza to stanza, flowed naturally. It held interest which often is difficult in story poems to do. I really hung on, feeling insecure about whether the preacher/father's life example would remain solid in the congregants and son.
Once more, would like to have awarded a 6 but they are gone.

This is a good story in a poem Bob and again good over-comes evil and restores the relationship of a father and son. Satan will stir up trouble as often as he can, but faith in God can win out every time. Good job. Nancy

It was well written, had a comfortable reading flow and a great rhyme pattern. I found the color choice with the red background somewhat enhanced the words. Thanks for sharing, well done.
