This is a very well written poem you have penned about different things going on in your mind. You start with the sweater and your grandma's skin. You used very good descriptive words and lovely picture of the sweater. I enjoyed reading and reviewing it. Blessings, Teri

This poem, Sweaters, written in iambic tetrameter, seems to compare the protection experienced wearing the warm sweaters knitted by Granny to the defenses mentally employed to fend off unwanted thoughts and emotions. Interesting and easy to read.

this is such creative an descriptive take on the bipolar state. personified thought is such a departure from anything I have read about this condition. it makes sense to me. I can relate to this mind-set. I don't know if you intended all of this but once you get me started thinking..... this is a fantastic write, Pam..........meeshu

Thoughts do get tangled and can keep one up at night. I don't sleep anyway, even without scary thoughts, so I'll stay awake for you too. =} This is really well done, great meter and rhyme. Easy to read, flowed great. Why can't I do that?

    Hi Roxanna. You can! It is the meter which makes it a smooth read. I will remember to comment on your posts regarding meter when I can. Thanks for the great review

Another beautiful poem from your quill, Pam. Sounds like your grandmother was a fine woman of strong stock and she shared some of that with you.

Those thoughts just need to be shepherded, yes?

Great job, you.

    Hi Gloria. This is a fictitious grandma. Maybe one I wish I had. I never saw my mom?s mom and saw my dad?s only three times. She was a peach but was three thousand miles away. I was thinking of her and wishing I had seen her more. Thank you for a great review

Hi Pamusart, I loved this. From beginning to end it had me...the title, and the verse about your thoughts, I could so relate, I need managing, lol. (That's why my need for a compass)

And your thoughts on anger, so true!!! I winced, hehehehe

Strong ending, I'm a sucker for an ending, in a movie, and a poem. And to keep the strongest thing in your mind is a wonderful way to leave us.

Always enjoy your poems, cheers, Ana.

That comparions with sweaters and thoughts are so clever Pam. Just just ass with that sweater the sweaters that you don't like as well thoughts that are not so pleasant I've been to get rid of his well they don't make you feel too good so just hold on to the good thoughts just like you. There are some sweaters that I hated others I loved and wanted to wear with everything. Just like some thoughts I quickly dismiss because they make me feel some weird ways and then then other good thoughts make me feel real good. Happy feelings. Pam thanks for sharing

Sweaters has great rhyme and tells a very nice story. My grandmother knitted me a sweater with leather buttons. I washed it before I wore it. Unfortunately our cat got to my new sweater and chewed holes in it. The cat had never done anything like that before. Grandmothers and sweaters I can appreciate, cats not so much. Best wishes.

An interesting poem on thoughts --- the different kind of thoughts we have, some of which encourage, enlighten and some which are oppressive and depressive, or frightening -- it is a menage of different ideas, creations, inspirations and divination coming from deep within our soul -- and we can choose sift and sort them as we see fit... some we let in easily (i.e., encouragement or optimism) and some we try to evict (i.e., fear or uncertainty)... you aptly point out "...Raw anger will infect my mind;
it's so much better to be kind..." many of our thoughts, we can create or help dissipate. Attitude is everything is so apropos establishing the 'mindset' you employ or foster, and in any given situation... and despite the 'hub-bub' inside our minds, we can choose at times to slow down, turn off, relax and let "...The quiet ones will make me whole
by spending time inside my soul..." Great food for thought!
