Very interesting poem. I recently watched a video about the Messi Tribe and thought it to be inviting. Glad you had your moment in Africa. Thanks for sharing. Good luck

Very interesting! You clearly had an eventful experience there. I would love to see things like that. Very well written. It's like I was there with you. Great imagery.

This reminds me of" National Geographic" photography or "Nature" on PBS. Stark images of Africa such as lived by the author. Beautifully written poem of a great adventure.

This is an amazing poem. The images created by your words pop right off the page. My favorite vision is the third one. The way you described the loins eating the hippo is very real.
Thank you for sharing

I like it! Great word choices give detail without bogging down, and you describe the interactions between animal and human so that we can almost feel the tension that must exist there. An excellent story poem - thanks for sharing it!

Hello Artasylum, thank you for sharing your poetic venture through Africa.
Your poem is filled with vivid imagery, and some of it was quite scary and a
little sad, especially regarding the Hippo kill. Your author's notes were very informative and helpful. For those of us who live in a city, an African safari
is like visiting another world--heck, it is another wonderful world. Fantastic
artwork choice. Is this yours or does it belong to someone else?
Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Your beautiful poem about the Mother Land Africa, make me proud to know that I am descended from people who once lived in that land. Your tales detailing the constant threat of danger also make me proud to know that I live in the best place for one who has no remaining courage to face even the mild dangers inherent in the day to day events here in America. I would not last a day in Africa I fear.

Hi Nomi... It is an astonishing place to be a part of your history... Most (civilized) people are to squeamish to know the truth about how life is perpetuated on the planet. Learning how everything has a place the small and less strong creatures learn how to protect themselves and often because of that lions, leopards and all of the animals of prey do go hungry and the little guy wins. Wow, I could go on for days about the beauty I was blessed in this lifetime to experience. Thanks for the wonderful 6 star review. yours, diana

Hi Artasylum,

I have read a poem that transported me to Africa. The imagery alone has made me safari to land of gorgeous animals. The rhymes have been fun to run through. The quote of Thomas Wolf was great. I used that as well in one of my old poems too.
Peace be with you,

Urial
